Wal-Mart CEO says visiting stores makes him grumpy

Not much of a story, but the title caught my eye and made me laugh.

So, he finally noticed?

Excerpt: "The key to running a store generally comes down to the quality of the store manager, and if we don't have a good store manager, then the person I hold accountable is the market manager," he said. "We're at a point now where we're putting a lot of pressure on that group to step it up and to get these stores that are letting us down to a level which we know they can if we get the right team in place."

What this idiot fails to realize, is that if you're the CEO, and you're mad half the time, it's a safe bet to assume that most of your customer base also is.

There's also a linked story about their self-check program being killed off over theft, but here, it seems to be all the management wants to have here. The last weekend evening I went in there, there were 2 cashiers and lines a mile long. The usual.

We probably all have the same complaints, and personally, I avoid shopping there if I can. If the Target wasn't ~50 miles east, I'd go there. I usually go to Meijer, which is only about 25.

Treat your employees like shit, your store will get run like shit. He's upset at how his store runs? Well he needs to start treating his employees a lot better than people who owned slaves treated those people.

Walmart will deliver any order of $35 for no delivery charge.

I buy all my paper towels, toilet tissue, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, dish soap, body wash, shampoo, coffee, etc. from their website.

Not every item is available for shipping. But, you can order it, pay for it online and drive to the store where they help you load the trunk.

Also, I don't come home with chips, chocolate, and way too many impulse items. Instead, I order those things in with delivery :-)
