Nervous at my job (not castration related)

Post by Poor_pup_no_balls (imported) »

I had some good news a few weeks ago. I was told I'd be taking on more work, more responsibility. Of course, I'll be promoted and given a raise but....thats all I know. I don't know when this promotion comes, or what percentage I'll be receiving, nothing. I need some good news. I'm trying to start my life again at 40.

Congratulations ! Good for you ! More power to you !

After you get used to your new job, you will wonder why you ever worried about taking on more power and responsibility now. Enjoy your promotion.

Congratulations, indeed! This will be exciting for you, and it will be 'the new normal' before you know it :).

Do enforce your own best interests, though. Don't let them give you the real increase in workload and responsibility while being vague about a 'future financial benefit'. Make sure they dedicate to something agreeable to you. I've been burned by vague promises before in this situation.

Of course, yours is likely all above-board, and I wish you the best!

When a door opens, you have to decide. In the end - often with hesitations - I have decided to go thru the door. The most interesting lives are not linear affairs.

Life is a lot more fun, interesting, and successful if you take carefully calculated risks and don t always play it safe.

toast to that one cutnbulls2ox.

Life is itself one of those calculated risks once we shed our inhibitions. Loving mine and never want to go back to how it was before.

Freedom is how we see ourselves through our eyes rather than those of others.

That would indeed be some get-together!

Probably a good thing for many that we are all spread over the globe. While I may be in Mexico at the moment, come May I'll be running all over the States getting into as much havoc as this motorbike can carry me to. Mechanical problems may have kept me from the MoM event last year that won't be the case this next time around. Hopefully I will one day (sooner than later I hope) get to meet some of the folks in here. After all, living the good life needs to be shared with others.

Yesterday I was told that my promotion has to wait until April. Feeling demoralized.

You shouldn't allow some other entity's (company) financial problems to effect how you feel about yourself. For one thing April is just around the corner. For another, pick yourself up and make your own feeling about yourself. Quit allowing your feeling about yourself being dependent upon what somebody else does. And NEVER put a price tag on how you feel about yourself. My personal self worth has nothing to do with how much another pays me or how much work is thrust upon me by another.

after losing my spouse I felt as though my world had ended. And in some ways it had. In order for me to go on I needed to pick myself up off the floor and stop feeling (woe is me). It was a hard thing to do. And I still may not be in the best place a year and a half later but I'm moving forward even though he won't be returning in April. Or ever. He is simply no longer. His ashes are on my living room mantle. That as a reminder to just keep moving forward. So start moving forward. At 40 you got the best yet ahead.
