Circumcision has fucked up my life completely, at 26 y.o. I did my first castration attempt to stop sexual frustrations. Chemical castration from 42 till 50 was to eliminate my sex drive. I'm not yet castrated but I think about it everyday, it's an obsession.

7 – Life is much better, more productive and more fulfilling without being constantly haunted by sex drive. So as soon as body matures, I would get castration done. My only regret in this life comes I did it so late.

I’m currently on vacation in Japan, but I did a compilation of the responses to this survey before I left. I will update it when I return. I plan for this thread to be on-going and of value both for academic purposes and, probably more importantly, to show members here how incredibly diverse this group is. It’s difficult to make any generalizations from the responses so far, and that’s important.

“Eunuch” will be a full chapter in the next (8th) edition of the Standards of Care of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health. Being included in the SoC that is used by the medical/counseling establishment will make it much easier to find all of the various sorts of professional help needed: counseling, hormones, surgery. It’s also an important step toward getting insurance coverage! Being able to demonstrate diversity will be important so that the professionals are not looking for any single reason for seeking castration, but that there are many reasons.

I hope that more people will contribute here.

The WPATH board and the set of three general editors for the SoC decided on chapters and chapter titles. As a member of one of the committees, each charged with work on a single chapter, I'm on the one for "Eunuchs." There is another chapter, for which I have no input (and haven't seen any of what they are working on) that will be titled "Non-binary." From the list of committee members, I doubt that they will include any surgery as an option, though I may be surprised. Getting either into the SoC is a great accomplishment. Once it's published, we can start to work on revisions....

Thanks for the information. Obviously, some gender therapists in Germany have a slightly different view on it. For example, the therapist who wrote my letter of recommendation for my surgery doesn't like the term "male to eunuch". He is one of the leading authors of the new S3 guideline. This guideline also supports surgery for all kind of non binary people. "Eunuch" is more seen as a subchapter of "non binary". Not all people seeking castration and/or penectomy identify as eunuch, but as some other gender in the non binary range.

I'd be an adult, out of high school, and starting to live on my own. I would have loved to make the claim of being neutered or gelded.
