I can take or leave Christmas. The 12 days of Christmas just really got to be too much for me.

Maids a milking, I'm not lactose intolerant but I don't really need that many milk cows. I can buy a gallon at CVS for far cheaper than feeding all those cows those maids are a milking.

Maybe because there were 12 main gods in both the Greek and Roman religions, 12 inches in a foot, 12 in a dozen, 12 members on a jury, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 months of the year, 12 signs of the Zodiac or 12 Apostles of Jesus?

Way back in Medieval Times when I was conducting research at a junior high school in Japan, there was a major snow fall one night. A herd of boys showed up at school well before classes were to start and constructed two quite anatomically correct snow people -- male and female -- standing next to the main entrance. They then disappeared before teachers started to arrive. I watched the first couple of teachers laugh at them and go on into the school. The principal laughed. The vice-principal (generally hated by students and the other teachers) immediately destroyed them.
