Any chance it's about an alligator looking for a big cock to eat? ;)

The tag line is "Two strangers meet to fulfill an unusual mutual fantasy." And they certainly do. It is wholly reminiscent of a [G][P] story ala Rob Cole or Zoroaster right down to the outlandish, simple method and dinner party.

There’s people that will actually eat these things??

If you just gotta know, and you don't subscribe to HBO... They say it's based on the Armin Mewes case. Warning... it seems to load a bunch of non-related videos, but my computer didn't freak out.

Never heard of it, but it seems to be a TV site. I got no warnings at all.

There's also a teaser for season 5 of "Gotham".

I'm pretty sure they are saying Armin Mewes to avoid mentioning the archive by name. The story is nothing like the Armin Mewes case as it does not involve any kind of BDSM or master sl*ve relationship and there is no indication of any cannibalism beyond the penis, no death, and very little blood. Some of the things the characters say are directly lifted from stories on the archive.

It could be also that you're hearing what you want to hear... kind of like when you're in the market for a specific kind of car, you're more tuned in when you see or hear advertising for that car. That, and well let's just admit it, a lot of the stories can be fairly repetitive in theme. There are only so many ways the world can describe amputating a penis and the aftermath of such.

Jay Duplass, one of the creators and writers for the show, also stars as the Son in the series Transparent. So I'm surprised he did this. It's kind of the HBO version of writing favorably about MtF and FtM transgendered individuals, then using our segment of the non-conforming population to say, "look at the freaks!"

That could be the case. But, the archive is one of the oldest continuously operating websites on the web, operating since I think '97 or '98. That means that for many adults alive today it has existed for their entire lives. Many have read the stories and I'm sure some are circulated outside the archive for various reasons. Hollywood is mining everything for content, especially short stories and any written works. And anything they don't have to pay an author for is pure gold to them. Therefore, I strongly believe the show was influenced by the archive. It is just too "cute" and I can't believe the show was original content without any looking at the stories. While eunuchs have always featured in fiction and, for example, A Song of Fire and Ice predates the archive, the examination of eunuchs or castration is usual more 'traditional,' i.e., not looking at it as a gender category or sexual fetish and not portraying it in any positive regard but rather in a political context (the "unsullied," for those who watch Game of Thrones, are primarily seen through a political and non-consensual prism). "Hungry" portrays it in a gender/sexual fetish lens and makes the whole thing cutesy and romantic and consensual, just like in so many archive stories. I consider it verging on plagiarism.

I'll take folks words for it on the plagiarism angle, I've not yet seen the episode, and will not until at least next week as I'm not home to watch it being on the other side of the USA for a family visit. I have my DVR set to record it, I'll have to see if it does, because through the miracle of modern technology, I was able to set it to record the show though I'm over 2000 miles from it.

I'll come back and give my review once I see it. I just know the bald head guy had a role on Better Call Saul a couple seasons ago, in yet another bizarre story. Seems he's getting typecast in things society may see as odd.
