OK it's not long, 42 minutes or so, but it's ... interesting.
Manny (12?) is the new kid in school, and has no friends. His dog finds a magic medallion (what else?) in the park, and Manny puts it on him. It grants Manny's wish for a friend, and turns Rufus (the dog) into a real boy. Hilarity ensues. While it seems that boy-Rufus has some grasp of being a human, he still acts a lot like a dog. It's cute, and made for kids.
It did make me wonder, though - and who didn't see this one coming? - what if Rufus were to confront Manny with the question, "Manny, how come you had my balls cut off when I was a puppy, and you got to keep yours?"
Of course, the movie does not address this!
Still, there's probably a story plot in there somewhere.
If you get the chance, look it up on Hulu's Halloween special list. It should be on the free offerings, but with commercials. You know? 5 minutes of movie, 20 minutes of commercials. Usual for Hulu.

That looks very cute. I'll check my torrent site for it, hope it shows up. Your idea is neat. Rufus could be, in his innocence, very persuasive and unashamed about bringing it up, making the conversation have to come up all day with all sorts of people; how long would it take before it just seems 'the right thing to do' to make Manny match his friend?
