The question I wonder about is if San Carlos Island really existed when I was a boy would I have sold myself to it? If I had summer and winter vacations off and if I'd been given a few thousand dollars up front as a signing bonus I might well have!

In that universe, the choice is up to the fathers! There are two very different dads in this story, Seth's Dad and San's Dad. Maybe they can talk for a while, maybe during a check up examination little before the ride in limo, and share experience about their sons and their little trip to San Carlos Island
