A Thai man cut off his best friend's penis and tossed it to his dog to eat after his drunk mate 'tried to seduce' his sleeping wife.

Suwit Tipjantha, 39, had been drinking at the home of colleague Permsak Petprasert, 50, and another friend on Saturday night in Ratchaburi, Thailand.

But when the trio ran out of booze, Permsak and the third man went to buy more – leaving Suwit alone with his wife, Tin, 52.

The bus painter allegedly made a move on her as she slept by stroking her arm.

This startled Permsak's wife, and she ran outside, screaming to her husband who was just arriving back home.

A furious Permsak admitted to police that he knocked out Suwit with a hammer, and then chopped off his manhood with a fruit peeling knife before throwing the appendage outside for their pet dogs to eat.

The mutilated worker woke up in hospital the next day with no recollection of the events – or why he was missing his penis.

He told police: 'I was drinking beer and liquor with my friends. I don't remember anything else after that.'

Police arrested Permsak, who confessed to beating his friend with a hammer and cutting off his penis.

Permsak told officers that after carrying out the attack, he instructed neighbours to drive the injured man in a pick-up truck to the Baan Pong Hospital.

He said would 'do the same again' because Suwit had allegedly tried to have sex with his wife.

While being taken on a police re-enactment on Monday morning, he said: 'Me and another friend came back and my wife was screaming.

'She ran to me and said that Suwit had went into the room while she was sleeping and touched her.

'I shouted at him "what did you do to my wife?" I hit him with a hammer then took off his shorts and cut off his penis.

'I would do this again to protect my wife. This was his fault for trying to seduce her.'

Police said that Permsak would be charged for physical assault leading to a serious injury of another person.

He is facing a prison term ranging from six months to 10 years.

Colonel Sakchai Intarapreecha from Baan Pong police said: 'The investigating officer is collecting evidence.

'Mr Permsak Petprasert has confessed and his wife said that the victim had been drunk and touched her arm while she was sleeping.

'Forensic teams have searched the area for the victim's penis but it is expected to have been eaten by dogs.'
