Regional Meetings

Here's a thought:

Would anyone, and I'm thinking gay in particular, but we're a pretty open bunch here, be interested in regional get togethers to discuss castration issues, meet people in person, chat, and maybe play a bit? There are several thousand archive members, seems to me that we could do the occasional meeting of like-minded souls in various parts of the country. Could be an opportunity for guys to meet and make friends.

Summer is not far away (he said hopefully, looking out at all the snow in his yard) and maybe groups could meet in centrally located cities, or maybe at some of the gay resorts such as Palm Springs, Key West, or at some of the gay campgrounds. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would love to meet you all in person. I don't think this would be hard to arrange. Maybe someone has a large house, or maybe we could rent cabins or rooms at a campground, or rent a gay B&B, etc. You get the idea.

OK folks, let's try something. Would you please respond with where you would like to meet IN YOUR REGION. Obviously we can't meet in everybody's back yard, but give some thought to central locations with easy and/or cheap airfares. Also, off-season resorts can be cheap. Here are some suggestions:

New York City area

Washington, DC

Toronto, ONT

Atlanta

Ft. Lauderdale (really cheap fares)

Chicago

New Orleans

Denver

San Francisco

Los Angeles (or perhaps Palm Springs; there are often deals on the guest resorts during the hot months)

Seems to me that three locations could accomodate a lot of us for a weekend of chat, shared info, and maybe some play as well.

My financial situation is not too robust right now, so I doubt if I could make it to any formal gathering. However, if you visit the Los Angeles area, I live in Torrance and we can at least meet and chat. And I know a couple of good Chinese and Mexican restaurants near my apartment.



You can even visit my apartment, PROVIDED you are not allergic to cats. Right Pearly? Right Conway?
