I took out my Netflix account using a Visa gift card (one shot), and then when the free month was up, it failed to bill the Visa, as it was out of funds. I then bought a Netflix card and added it for payment. In using the VPN, I failed to realize that it was on when I went to finish watching that turd of a movie. In the suggestions, alongside the other Trek series, I found "Discovery". I do not know if I took out the account initially with the VPN on or not. If I did, it was set for "Optimal Location", which many times, turns out to be Russian! LOL
As for the series, you are not missing a thing. Not to spoil it, but the whole plot of this ship being in existence is ridiculous.

I tried watching it..get about three episodes in somehow, it was sooooo bad. So happy to have The Orville instead. I think it was criminal what the new Trek series did to the Klingons.
Re: Netflix Turds - Inspired by Dave
Agreed. They even ruined the Klingon language.
If fans thought that "Enterprise" was bad, they have to see this to know what 'bad' is !
I also watched "Lost in Space" again.
Granted, it's been years since I watched the original.
I'll say that the new series was OK. It wasn't awful. It sure beat that hideous movie attempt!
It did elicit some emotion from me, mainly in making me repeatedly yell "Would someone please kill her?" at the new Dr. Smith.
The robot was nice, the kid was good in his role, and the plot was acceptable.
Would I watch it again? Probably not.
I wouldn't consider it a total turd, although it did have its moments.

This one was actually quite cute:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2436046/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Antboy 2013
There are even 2 sequels but the 2nd one is on another pay service.
11 year old Pelle is bitten by some sort of mutant GMO ant, and just like Spiderman (cough) gains the powers of an ant.
Naturally, his friend Wilhelm finds out, and designs a super suit for him.
Antboy then takes up a career as a prepubescent crime fighter.
Think Spiderman, but a few years younger and with an ant.
The special effects are terrible. The acting is like a school play. And it's adorable. I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm with you with the new Star Trek thing .. errr its pretty Shite. Well put it this way I binned it off after 3 episodes .
Stranger things may be a "Grower" but not holding my breath.
I did get to the end of Lost in Space.
I don't know why I'm watching Preacher.
I hear that series 4 of Better call Saul has started.
Will watch The Orville season 2 but may bin it off if it gets stale.
Thats about where I'm at , at the moment.

Talula turned me onto "Breaking Bad" , but I have lost interest in it now, that the main baddie was killed and season 5 has started. It should have been left to die at the end of season 4, I think. It was a good ending.
I really enjoyed it up through 4, though. Thought it was great.

Oh my gosh, they have Star Trek: The Animated Series on there now! I LOVED this when I was a kid. Now it's so cheesy! But I have to watch it.

I have no words for how bad, and how out-of-continuity this travesty of an attempt at "Star Trek" is. I literally want to vomit.
Gregory Peck's grandson Ethan Peck has been cast as Spock in the upcoming two seasons of Star Trek Discovery
When I read this, I thought of you.
Re: Netflix Turds - Inspired by Dave
I saw the teaser for season 2. I cringed. I almost cried. My sphincter clenched.
On another note, I watched about half a movie called "The Flying Guillotine" on Netflix.
It's Chinese. I think. The subs don't match the English dub, which doesn't match the mouths! LOL
That's the best part.
The Chinese emperor likes to behead people. Just about anyone, really.
He commissions some warriors in training, or something, to make a new weapon to get rid of 2 high ranking officials that he cannot just "off and kill".
So someone invents a flying guillotine. You throw it, it lands on their head, you jerk the cord, and off with his head!
Halfway in, I had no clue who was who or doing what or why.
They did mention eunuchs, though. Just that this guy was, and this guy wasn't, but again, I had no idea who was and who wasn't.
It was very confusing, and very cheesy.

Woody Allen made "What's Up Tiger Lily" as a satire and farce.
He took a Japanese detective movie, rearranged the scenes and added a new script unrelated to the old movie.
It now involves a stolen fortune cookie recipe...
