Low dose androcur, raloxifene.

Post by modernist (imported) »

Hey all! I've been taking 25mg androcur for 6 weeks and 60mg raloxifene for 4 weeks. Big positive difference in how I feel. Things I've noticed - I'm a bit softer all around. I'm less irritable. My body odor pretty much disappeared. I'm a little tired but I'll take it over testosterone any day. I don't have the annoying obsessive drive that T gives, meaning I can actually enjoy my sexuality. The first couple weeks were rough (brain fog, hot flashes(?), depression) but I've since been adjusting pretty well. Mainly I feel so much more comfortable in my own skin. My goal isn't to totally nuke my T - that's the mistake I made last time and I had to stop because of the fatigue. I'm trying to lower it gently and as far as I can tell it's working.

I've been thinking about trying low-dose androcur for the same reasons you cite. For me, dropping down to 25 mg/day didn't change anything, but my testicles had shut down completely and even that dose may have prevented recovery. Did you start at a higher dose?

No blood tests yet, but planning to get some soon. Didn't start at a higher dose.

Hi. I have started androcur twice this year. Had to stop both times because of negative side effects outweighing positive ones. First couple of times I did 100mg a day for a week then dropped to 50mg. I had my T tested both times and it crashed to castated levels very quickly. I had to stop mainly because of the shortness of breath. I may be paranoid, having had gynecomastia since puberty, but thought one breast did get bigger. Anyway started again beginning of the week, 25mg a day, and will do 50 mg a day over the weekend. The only side effect so far has been a horrible smell and tingling in my nose. Was like having my head over a bowl of bleach! That caused a cold like reaction that made me feel like the start of a cold. Feel better today, like getting over a cold. The mental emotional and sexual desired effects were so positive for me that I do won't this to work. Third time lucky maybe?

What made you choose raloxifene instead of Tamoxifen?

Raloxifene has fewer side effects. Clinical trials show it's well tolerated long term and has beneficial effects on bone structure and body composition.

It has been a while how did this work for you? Luckily I do not need androcur I drop down to 14ndl pretty quick. I am really looking into raloxifene and herbal estrogen or low dose estrogen.

Thanks I appreciate it. There isn’t a lot of info on raloxifene. My main concern is Deep Vein Thromboembolism, sleeplessness, and hot flushes.

I’m hoping my wheat grass, chlorella, moringa, bromelain, garlic, turmeric morning routine staves off deep vein thromboembolism.
