Dumb Solutions That Actually Worked

I read this on tumblr. It was a screen shot captured from another website. So, I'm paraphrasing. It seriously made me laugh out loud.

He went to the doctor with a problem that needed to be looked at right away.

Asking at reception if the doctor could fit him in with an urgent matter that wasn't an emergency. She said, "we don't take walk ins, you need an appointment".

So, he went to a waiting room chair called the doctor's number and another receptionist answered the phone. He asked if there were any openings in the schedule for that day. The receptionist said, "only at 9:00, can you make it here in time?"

He said, "sure, I'm here now". The receptionist didn't understand but put the appointment in the computer.

He went back up to the window and greeted the original receptionist again, "hello, I have an appointment for 9am". She checked him in.

He called to cancel his doctor's appointment. He was told it would be $200 because he wasn't giving a weeks notice.

So, he said, "oh, then let's reschedule the appointment. Can I get an appointment in two weeks?"

The receptionist said, "well, the best I can do is three weeks not two, would that work?"

"Sure three weeks works fine. Is there a charge for rescheduling the appointment?"

"No, you can reschedule for free. Can I help you with anything else?"

"Yes, I'd like to cancel my appointment."

"There's still a $200 charge for not giving a weeks notice."

"But, my appointment is in three weeks."

She canceled the appointment with no charge.
