Anyone here get an in-office castration?

Post by eafictionwriter (imported) »

I know about Dr. Arkoff who performs his surgeries in a surgical suite in his office.

Has anyone here gotten castrated in-office by another doctor? I was wondering if insurance rules have forced all castrations to be done in hospitals and out-patient centers these days. It seems like an in-office castration would be the most intimate and discreet setting for getting castrated. And probably be the lowest cost option without the hospital overhead.

Dr Thep is even more basic....

I think many (incl mine) are done in hospital because of other medical considerations, malignancy etc. I believe Dr A has done many and without significant problems.

Yes, castration of healthy males can easily be done in-office, as complications are rare, and surgery pretty simple, without a need to have general anesthesia. But most castrations are done either under general anesthesia or on people with bad health.

I contacted a Dr in Oregon who advertised ovariectomies on his web site. He would be about a 3.5 hour drive for me. I got this as a reply;

"Thank you for your inquiry. The current cost of an orchiectomy is 2,750.00 if done in our office under a local anesthesia.

Dr. ____ performs orchiectomies for transgender patients only. He follows the WPATH Standards, which require two letters of recommendation from therapists. Please be advised that we verify all recommendations to include that they are properly licensed. Dr. _____ will make personal calls to your recommendations as well. We recommend that you stay in the area for at least 24 hours following the surgery.

My urologist has a surgical suite upstairs in his office. Check in downstairs, go upstairs to the waiting room, they take you back and start the IV. Next thing you know, you're waking up and it's done.
