I'm androgyne with both male and female characteristics, however I'm castrated and lean more to the female side of androgynous. I love tgirls and admire castrated guys and nullified guys for going for what is right for them . Justine

I have been castrated. I see myself as an altered male. --FLO--

I reveal myself as male and self-identify as a man. Friends and family all are aware I'm castrated.

I've successfully navigated the path to becoming castrated. I believe I'm seeking the path to becoming nullified.

Once nullified, I believe I will continue to reveal myself as male and self-identify as a man.

I usually present as male but those who know me well know that I actually identify somewhere between male and female. I am not fond of the term "non-binary" for myself. I am me.

This seems about the size of it for most on this journey. Anyone not intimate friend/family or medical doesn't get to know for sure that one is castrated. A few admirable folks manage to be more open, but most, I think know how little these things are accepted by much of society.

Yes, it should be better, but human nature is what it is?

I am castrated, so I no longer identify myself as a "man". However, I am male.

So in your case, your gender is eunuch. IE if you were to identify your gender you would tell someone, "I am a eunuch", instead of, "I am a man." is that correct?

Female presenting as female. I seem to remember that Iwas an intact male and a eunuch as welll but all that is in the past. Life is good now

As some websites have "it is complicated ", as publicly I would say I am male, although I don't know why anyone publicly ask, as I surely appear male; but privately I would say eunuch, and add on the femme side.

It's actually a very important question. As the folks who are going to be writing guidelines to help us all will want to know what label to give us. As I'm sure everyone knows, people like to give a label to something and are afraid of helping in the absence of labels. Put another way, a doctor runs into one of us, they need something to point to (the label) with a set of instructions to provide care (aha! So this is what I have to do for it...).

I think this is going to be a difficult thing to nail down. What I'm seeing in these responses is we all feel our gender is what we are or desire to be (IE Eunuch/nullo), but most will identify their gender as male to the outside world, on government issued ID's, etc. with a few choosing a gender marker of "X" on those items where available (IE California drivers licenses).

I know I feel my gender is nullo, and identify that way inside of our community, but for the purposes of the rest of the world I say male, and that's what is on my government ID's in two countries.

Losethem’s question is a very important one, and one that I hope many will provide information about. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health is in the process of writing the EIGHTH edition of its medical Standards of Care. This is the “bible” used by psychologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, and surgeons to decide what is appropriate care. For the first time, there will be an entire chapter devoted to providing proper services to the eunuch community. (Eunuchs were not mentioned even once in the current 7th edition!)

Once the volume is published early next year, it will quickly become the standard for medical personnel, and will remain so for the next 8 to 10 years. It’s important to get as much right as possible. One of the critical points will be the wording to be used. What do people here consider themselves to be? What do they call themselves and/or present as in public? To close friends and family? What would be the best terms for approaching medical practitioners? What term(s) should the medical practitioners know and understand?

The chapter will provide for those seeking a proper prescription for hormone blockers (e.g., Androcur, etc.) and for the follow-up medical observation that should be recommended. It will provide for obtaining surgery (orchiectomy and/or penectomy) and for any desired hormone replacement afterwards.

Getting the wording right will help the entire process. We don’t need a single term, but rather a sense of what people will feel comfortable with.
