Food you do not need to consider, as you need food every day. Doesn't matter where you consume it.

A quick napkin calculation for Washington, DC to Manila is about $1500 round trip in July 2018, PLUS the surgery of $700, PLUS lodging in Manila at around $500-$600, PLUS food (i'd budget about $50 a day), so another $350, and you're up to $3150, and you're outside the US and away from our medical system if anything goes wrong. Not to mention DC is a major international destination, so flying from your regional airport may be up to twice that price.

Cheap may not be cheap after all, and isn't necessarily better. I've seen at least one person who went to Arnkoff for nullification based on price, and boy are they paying dearly for that decision now. Arnkoff can do castration just fine, but I'm just using that as an example.

You are definitely right, everything has to be taken into consideration. I did all the calculations, and travel/hotel/food to go to US (from EU) would be more expensive than to go to Philippines, and thats before we add the price of the surgery. Also its an experienced doctor, in a country with quality medical centers, so even if something would go wrong (unlikely, but sh** happens), its not like you would be sick alone, somewhere in a jungle

The main point is, its good to have viable quality choices around the World! So wherever you are, you can pick and choose doctor who is closest or most suitable for you, who will so the surgery based on consent and not on BS "bring two referrals" which are a major pain to get in the West.

P.S. I'm thinking it would make sense to gather doctors (their contacts, prices, etc) who do surgeries based on consent in one post and make it sticky. Like TopManFL also mentioned Mexican alternative. Good! The more the better.

Yes, I mentioned him in the first post. While he is super cheap and has shi*loads of experience, but he is not really a doctor and operates in less than hygienic clinic. If I hadnt found anyone else, I would have used his service, but luckily there are several genuine options available.

Thep has pruned countless kathoeys with apparently fine results, but there are others who are well established and reputable, -and more expensive.

Choose carefully, but in the end it is a leap of faith in the ability of a stranger.

Are you in the Philippines yet? I can personally vouch for Dr Joson's work since he did mine. By the way, he does orchiectomy at scrotectomy as separate procedures.
