Re: My 2018 Androcur journal & experience
Week 14
I think I might make these journal updates monthly now, as the initial effects have now kinda reached a plateau and reading updates every week that say "nothing exciting to report" will get boring fast!
Ive got my 10 minute consultation with my doc in a few weeks, where I'll tell him that I've been self medicating. I'm hoping I'll be referred to a gender identity clinic, but I guess time will tell.

I've been using the epilator occasionally since going on Androcur so I should have some pretty good experience to relate. I'm almost completely free of body hair and so far it isn't growing back very much. The few hair follicles that are still functional are producing very thin hair as expected. It's easy to do a touch-up when needed.
I've been using an epilator for over 10 years, on everything from the neck down. I didn't start on my scrotal hair until much later. Currently, all my body hair, except a few odd stubborn ones, are gone, no regrowth at all. Even my pubic hair is thin and takes retouching only once a month. Even hair on my scrotum to my anus are regrowing slower.
About two years ago, I have started applying the epilator on my facial hair. By now, the regrowth is markly slower and sparcer.
I think the more frequent I take them out, i.e., taking them out before they grow to full size, the regrowth would be even finer and slower.
So all in all, between my low T from being chemically castrated, and epilator use, all my hair below my eyes is definitely thinning out nicely.
Just hooked up with a guy who happens to be doing the same with waxing, and realized for the first time how incredibly silky smooth the skin would feel on another person. I'd say just the effect is worth the pain of using the epilator.

Raloxifene and Tamoxifen are very similar.
At least that’s my understanding - I’m no expert!
I can speak from personal experience, combining Raloxifene or Tamoxifen slows down or prevents gynecomastia. Since Raloxifene is a first line of medication for menopausal women to prevent osteoporosis, I would assume it helps prevents osteoporosis for men with low T as well.
Combining them with Androcur also allowed me to drop my sustaining Androcur dose to 25 mg a day only, and maintain the same "castration" effect. In fact, after 4 years of on and off Androcur at this low dose, I became permanently castrated. I have been off of Androcur for about 7 years. No return of erections, any ejaculate is clear, and libido is basically all but gone, needing a release as long as once every 3 months. I lived with that for about 5 years.
Unfortunately, 2 years ago, I need to get back onto to a low dose of testosterone because of depression and serious fatigue from the low T.

I'm at a loss as to why I can still easily get hard and get off, despite being on 100mg of Androcur and 60mg of raloxifene for 3.5 months now and my testosterone levels confirmed to be almost non existent

Body hair update. My chest and arm hair seems to grow back at the same rate as before. It might be slightly softer as I feel less prickly as it grows back.
Facial hair doesn't seem too different, although it seems that my moustache area is patchy now.. like.. no change in the hair itself, but there's literally patches where there's no hair. Maybe it was like that before and I just didn't notice...
The biggest difference has to be my back/shoulders. I shaved probably a month or just over a month ago and there's hardly any regrowth, and what regrowth there has been, it's finer and not really noticeable. So that's great!
im hoping the rest of my body hair follows the same patten my back has

Well, today was a big step for me. I finally (after 20 years!) saw my local doctor who's referred me to some specialists. It seems to be an umbrella "mental health" service, so I'm hoping they suitably cover gender related issues... I guess I'll find out when I have my first consultation with them.
fingers crossed!

Congratulations! I'm sure everything will go just fine...
How did your GP react when you brought the subject up?

Well, the "being agender" thing was among 2-3 other things I also listed, so he didn't really bat an eye. Even when I mentioned I was on Androcur and Raloxifene. I think the proper in-depth consultation will be with the people I see next.

Glad it went well, I think you’d have to be pretty unlucky to find an unhelpful GP. Though no doubt they exist!
My sessions with the sexual therapist are an hour long and far more in depth than any conversation I’ve had with my GP, and have proved to be very helpful.

Im getting the feeling that they'll maybe be less.... "experienced" with agender people. As opposed to MtF transgendered?
