5 month Androcur trial - few questions before I start!
As it seems to be very difficult to get hold of genuine GnRHs that aren't fake or mega expensive, I've decided to try Androcur for around 5 months.
I just have a couple of quick, questions before I start:
1. I bought Evista for my previous trial, with the aim of taking it to prevent gyno. I'm assuming this side effect doesn't change with Androcur and I should still take it if I want to prevent it? If so, is 60mg daily too much? Is 60mg a week not enough!? i don't really want to take it if/when gyno appears, I want to prevent it from happening in the first place!
2. To help with potential osteoporosis, I've bought a supplement which provides a daily amount of 400IU vitamin D and 800mg Calcium, is that a sensible dosage? (I know it's possible to have too much, so I don't want to be over doing it!)
3. I know Androcur works in a different way to a GnRH and is harsher on the body (liver), but is there anything else I need to be aware of? I kinda get the feeling that by choosing Androcur, I'm going for the "less optimal" option... but I guess with so many users... Androcur can't be that bad?
My goal is to kill my erections and eventually shrink my dick and balls.
Thanks for any input!

I don't know that the Evista would be the best choice for preventing the gyno side effects of Androcur, and when those occur is different with different people. I took the generic Androcur for almost a year before my Orchie and didn't experience the gyno development problem until I started increasing the dosage at about the seventh or eighth month to get to a castrate T level. When the breast buds started to develop, those things hurt like hell just brushing your nipples against a shirt or such.
I went to Tamoxifen 20 mg daily and pretty much got rid of the breast buds, but none of those meds will eliminate any breast growth which might have occurred and I do have those but I've put on a chunk of weight so it's hard to figure out what's breast or just fat. I also think the Tamoxifen is a bunch less money than the Evista.

1. Sorry I know nothing about Evista dosage.
2. I'm taking two pills of that dose a day (2 x 800mg calcium). I may be overdoing it, but I do have a friend who's prescribed that dose by a GP as other medication she's taking can cause osteoporosis. So I figure it's safe (famous last words!).
3. I'm taking the view that whilst Androcur can be harsh on the liver it's probably a bit like paracetamol which millions of people take every day without a problem, but take a stupid amount and you're asking for trouble. If you're going to take it for an extended period then regular liver function tests are probably a good idea.

If you're taking 2 x 800 mg, it's certainly calcium carbonate, the cheapest calcium. Are you aware that this will eventually block your arteries ? Instead, you should take 1 x 800 mg of calcium citrate. The difference is that calcium citrate is more absorbable so you need less. Ask your pharmacist.

Hmm the stuff I bought is calcium carbonate :-\ although I only plan on taking 800mg daily.
does anyone know what dose of Evista/raloxifene I should take? I'm thinking.. one tablet (60mg) daily?

Well, with the lack of people saying otherwise, I think my daily plan is set at:
100mg Androcur for 3 weeks (one AM, one PM) then:
50mg Androcur (maybe tweaking it up or down, depending on my reaction)
60mg Raloxifene
800mg Calcium supplement (incl. Vitamin D)
ill probably post post weekly updates and maybe take monthly measurements too... but I'm not expecting any shrinkage in the first 6 months really...)

That sounds like a good plan to me (not that I know anything about Raloxifene dosages)…
Are you going to be having blood tests so that you know your testosterone level? Maybe also worth getting bloods for kidney function, liver function, etc. If you have a cooperative GP that is…

I had my testosterone checked months ago before I started the icing sugar and horse tranq... err I mean "Triptorelin" and it was normal, so I'll assume it's not changed since then.
As for liver.. I assume it's okay, I don't drink and I'm pretty healthy... I kinda don't wanna get a test... but I guess I should

If you’re healthy and don’t drink then your liver’s probably fine, but going by what I’ve read the occasional test isn’t a bad idea when you’re taking Androcur. I think most people don’t have any problems though.
I’m being a little careful as until November I was doing my best to drink the local supermarket dry!
