I just finished viewing the 1960 Walt Disney film Pollyanna. Needless to say it's a G rated family film but sort of interesting that it opens with a group of naked boy swimmers. What surprised me was that the boys weren't in some secluded pond but as the base of a actively used railroad bridge where anyone on the train, including Pollyanna, could have simply looked out the window and seem them in all their glory. However no one was scandalized, no one even raised an eyebrow. I suppose in the olden days naked preteen boys were no big deal.
Even though its hard to believe, naked swimming and showering in public isn t so prosecuted in a lot of rural areas today, but it varies a lot.
As a nudist and a swimmer, I love to jump naked into rivers, lakes, oceans, ponds, and clean up on the road when traveling. Right under highway and road bridges are some of the best nude swim sites since its easy access on public road right of way land and no one on the road can see under the bridge from driving on top. I do that a lot in warm weather to clean off the sweat and enjoy a swim. Most people don t care when they do see me. I do the same thing in the river parks in downtown Austin, Texas with paper thin boxers on that I shed as soon as I m in the water and people passing by don t care or stop to watch or comment. I do the same thing on ocean beaches at dusk or early morning with no hassles. Out in rural areas its not unusual for men to swim or wash up naked. Public park hose spigots work for a quick shower splash bath in rural parks standing naked by the hose spigot in hot weather. Women drive by and I just rotate my ass to face them and they just seem to think its no harm if some hayseed cowboy is cleaning himself off naked if its not in a town or a city. Men and boys look and might stop to talk, but never hassle me about it. Fishermen warn me to protect my swinging bait from the local fish and turtles.
I ve been woken up sleeping naked at night in my pickup truck cab by both male and female police with no tickets or hassles in rural areas. Take river, lake, and ocean baths naked when talking to US Border Patrol, lifeguards, and park rangers with no hassles as long as not many people other than males are around.
The law says you can be naked outside if a reasonable person doesn t exoect that it would be seen by females in remote areas or something similar. That concept is used to ignore nudity at a lot of public hot springs and other public water bodies like oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. Lots of hot springs are openly nude with no police hassles. Haulover Beach nude beach in North Miami Beach, just south of Golden Beach, Fl has an official legal nude beach right among high rise towers on the Atlantic ocean with lifeguards, parking, showers, bathrooms, and all co ed with kids and old people mixed in with no problems and people treat it as perfectly normal to be naked or wearing suits like the lifeguards do , shucks lol.
But it only takes one whiner to spoil things and complain to cops.
