NP Castrations?
Does anyone know if a nurse practitioner can legally castrate a man in the United States now? They can do most everything else so it just stands to reason. Also, would most health insurance policies pay for such a thing for hyper sexuality? Or maybe any other diagnosis?

Re: NP Castrations?
No, I don’t have any particular NP in mind at this point. I have just gained knowledge lately about what makes owners of clinics tic, and it seems to have little to do with medical ethics and everything to do with what is profitable and at the same time legal. Rural health clinics are popping up everywhere, and it has nothing to do with medical ethics, it’s because the rules have changed and there is government funding for them as well as a change in the laws such that they get payed a lot more than private practice for the same procedure. They do the procedures that are reimbursed well, and not others. So, if there is money in it and it is legal, there will be people more than ready to do it, whatever it is. So, either there is no money in castration, or they don’t know about it one. Heck, it could be a profitable business for someone, I just don’t know.
