If a grown man wants to keep his testosterone levels much higher than usual as he ages, does it work to take higher doses of artificial testosterone to maintain a younger man s sex drive, erection and sexual abilities, muscles, and body masculinization ?

I was hoping that when I got old enough to feel a major drop in my body s natural testosterone levels from normal aging, that I could plan to take artificial testosterone and get my T level back up to a healthy 20 year old man s extra high T levels to super charge my sex drive, erections and sexual abilities, and keep up optimal body muscles and masculinization. Can men do this to stay virile, fit, and super horny longer into older ages than normal ?

Is this possible to some degree ? Has anyone tried doing this ? How much did it work or fail for you ?

What artificial T levels numbers are men targeting to maintain their ideal or maximum possible male sexual functions and body features ?

Since athletes and bodybuilders do use very high doses and get some major muscle growth and other affects, can older men do this with high doses of artificial T ?

I know my balls would turn off and shrink way down in size and function over time if I started on high artificial T doses. But when a man is growing much older, he s not trying to breed more kids or win ball size contests any more. He wants to stay younger and more virile and sexually able.

Anyone have any experience trying artificial T as a sexual and masculinity fountain of youth ?

Thanks for any answers

I inject 2 CCs of Depo Testosterone once weekly. Starting this my point wasn't to regain something that was lost or of diminished capacity but to prevent my death. I have Multiple Sclerosis and, some years back, UCLA School of Medicine came up with a protocol that was found to be very efficacious in the treatment of symptoms of MS, mainly the twisting, uncontrollable spastic movements, falling down, seizures, limiting vision etc. What it does not do or purport that it will do is replace the Myaline sheathing that is falling from the nerves and making them subject to pressure and increased sensitivity which causes all manner of external muscle and nerve manifestations. I started this six years ago. Also, one need take a vial of B-12 every second week. That's the whole protocol and, in dealing with my neurologist, he approved it and we ran our own test which was to last six months. After six months I was 80% improved, still had occasional seizures but even they were not as severe as previously. I could drive a car, ride a motorcycle...compared to how I had been, this seemed like a cure to me.

Now to the effects. Going in I was only too aware of the possibilities for all manner of problems. Ond solution offered was castration which I accepted and had the original testes replaced with artificial ones, slightly larger than what was removed. Lacking any capacity to produce natural testosterone, my body relied on the injectable sort. You need to understand, I'm not young, 73 to be precise so any return to the glory years however that might be induced wasn't likely. However my body did not follow the medical play book. My hair, some of it, came back and in its usual colour, mouse brown, significant hair on my chest, easily achieved and maintained erections as well as good ejaculations. I can edge myself on to a second helping...

By now, I had several doctors involved, including a panel from the local University School of Medicine. Batteries of tests have been run and on a structured basis so we have a very definitive view of changes adjusted for my age. Just so you'll have some of the parameters...I'm 1.98 mts tall, weigh 97 kilos and, even with a minimal bit of working out on an all purpose stationary machine, I've got a reasonable confirmation for my age. My penis has lost about 10 centimeters in length when flaccid but will expand to what it normally did. Unlike the fantasy land of most porn, I had a normal sized penis, balls slightly larger than average but they weren't below my knees and weighed me down. I'm writing all that as many men are more curious about the sexual pros and cons than what happened internally.

I'm not sure I can sum this up completely but....castrated or not, this protocol has helped not only myself but others, many of whom were significantly younger than was I. You need to have your doctor/neurologist get the study, read the protocol then match that to your history and, hopefully, he has one that goes back for several years. Then, should you decide to try it, it's something of a crap shoot. My own opinion is that it's more successful on older men whose production of testosterone has already significantly dropped. Yes, after a couple of injections, a blood test will yield a t level that's astronomically high and that's to be expected.

A. I hope you NEVER have MS.

B. I believe that my castration made it easier for the depo testosterone to work more efficiently.

C. ONLY try this if you are clinically deeply depressed or have an existing medical condition that would offer itself as possibly being helped.

D. Understand that your doctor may or may not even consider the protocol. All I would say is that UCLA med. has a sterling reputation, one I would trust. (And I say that choking as I'm a grad of USC...)

Sorry for the length, but this cannot be answered quickly or easily.

You don t know how happy I am to hear that some men can regain and enjoy the benefits of higher testosterone levels and extend their sexual abilities and joys into older ages. If it works for some men, then there s hope for all of us to be one of the lucky ones and try for it. All of life is choosing risks and potential rewards. Sex and virility is worth some risks to me. Masculinity longer into old age is too. Thanks for the success stories and for the warnings and down side posts on here. I can t be the only man facing this and wondering how well different levels of artificial T work for different men and eunuchs. The more info we all share, the more informed men s choices will be.

Look into bio-identical T in the form of insertable pellets. I think they are 200mg pellets that are inserted into skin of the hip and completely absorb in 5 or so months. This is not the old style testopel. I often hear on the radio, ads from doctor run clinics that specialize in exactly what you are looking for. They state that they are looking to optimize your levels for wellness. claim to base on your feeling not on a lab value. usually offering men and women hormone optimization (T, E, Thyroid, DHEA etc) and weight loss, sexual health, etc. Probability a bit expensive and cash based. one of these places has a half hour Saturday radio show/ad. This is in ohio, usa.
