21 months as a eunuch

Post by Andrew (imported) »

At work I have continued to read and admire the book THE CATS’ HOUSE by Bob Walker. Here is a typical paragraph: “During these stressful times, the least we can do for our felines is to help them face the midday sun. We’ve all witnessed the cat-cleansing effects of sunshine; the melted muscles, exposed bellies, and not-a-care-in-the-world reveries.”

The last few days have seen no sunshine coming into our apartment through the east and west facing windows. (There are no windows facing north or south.) Torrance had 3.75 inches of rain yesterday, beating out the 1992 former record of 1.18 inches. If I get some overtime this weekend, I want to see if I can squeeze out another of those window ledge pads designed for cats to sleep in the sun. Conway pretty much hogs the one in the west window of the guest room. Pearly has shown an interest in the west window of the kitchen, so the next one will probably go there.

It would be fun to put up an apartment wide catwalk as described in the book, but I gravely doubt the landlady would give me permission to cut holes in the wall, even if they were up high. Too bad, this apartment is a natural for an elevated cat walk.

That is a good book Andrew. I had thought about something like what he describes for my home but living a mobile home has it's restrictions too. I considered a loft type arrangement at one time.

Elsa is getting old enough where it is hard for her to even jump in bed so she sleeps on a chair of her choosing in the living room with a vest of mine.

Sam doesn't sleep except to plan mankinds extermination.

Think about a loft type plan or shelving.

I have a stairs-to-a-loft cat tree in my bedroom, and two cat trees in the living room. But a little extra never would hurt the cats. Cats like to be aloft, walk around aloft, look down on human beings while aloft, and sleep while aloft.
