I should perhaps have mentioned that I go to the gym several times each week. I nearly always wear vest tops and shorts while training and shower at the gym afterwards. The fact that I am bald from head to toe is obvious to anyone who can be bothered to look. As I have already said, I have never had an adverse comment (I have received the odd compliment). I do get a few looks, but don’t know if they are positive or negative and don’t really care. When I first shaved my body I was extremely self-conscious to begin with, butter a while I stopped worrying. I had the same issue when I shaved my head for the first time and a couple of years later when I shaved my eyebrows. I have been bald and browless since 2004. Over time I have noticed more shaved chests, legs and underarms among other male gym-goers. Whether it is anything to do with them liking my appearance I don’t know.

I have gone all the way and plucked out my eyelashes a few times in order to be 100% hairless, but it takes time and keeping eyelids eyelash free is virtually impossible. I kept it up for a month earlier this year (June to August) but have let the eyelashes grow now. I will definitely pluck them out again in due course when I get the urge to do so.

I'm glad that you have started to buzz your body hair - it is a good start. Why not try a fun body wax if it appeals? I did it once but was disappointed that I didn't stay smooth for more than a few days. If waxing appeals, make sure that you don't buzz too short - wax needs the hair to be long enough for it to work. Over the last few years I have had laser hair removal from nose to toes and full face. It isn't perfect but I am much smoother than before. I still need to shave though.

I agree with everyone else - it is your body and if you want it to be hairy, leave the hair alone. If you want to be hairless, remove it. And one thing I have learned over the years is that some will like what you do (in every aspect of your life - not just hair removal), some will dislike it, but the vast majority won't care.

If being hairless appeals - try it!

Just so. Enjoy!

I'll examine my legs to see they're girly. Hmm. Don't see much hair, but girly? Not so sure, but they are fine legs, I think.

Hi there. I also love having smooth legs. Im recently single after an 11 year relationship. Pretty down a about that but at least i can live as i want. I also worry about public perception of a guy with smooth legs. I'm trying to get used to going out like that. I run, so I can run with shorts and i wonder how many people notice my legs.

I also have been pondering the thing that most women surely want a masculine man. It's just nature. So I'm probably cutting my chances of finding another partner. But as i look at it.. if they can't accept me for who I am then they aren't going to be my best choice of life partner.

I wish us all the best

I too like to shave my legs and worries able appearances. I normal do it in winter. My fear is drawing attention to myself and my gender issues... I’ve thought about doing a number of laser treatment to thin out the hair enough that I don’t have to shave but they are smooth enough for me.

I say you got to do whatever pleases you. Don't worry about anyone else.

I've hated body hair since I started growing it. Luckily I'm not gorilla hairy like some guys I've seen. I've been shaving my arms, legs, pits and pubes for a long time. Now that I'm older and with no T in my system, it has diminished quite a bit. I've had electrolysis done on my ear hair that got out of hand and I was tired of pulling it with tweezers. I also had her do my front torso down to the "bikini" line (ouch) and the few that were on my back. I shave everything left over at least once a week.

I also hate body hair on women, yuck!

Hi. I hope you don't mind me asking.. you have no T and taking estradiol. Is that because you don't want the effects of T but estradiol protects against bone density loss etc?

I don't want the effects of T, glad to be rid of it. The human body needs some kind of sex hormone, so E is it. I don't want to have osteoporosis, and don't mind the other effects of E. I'm a much better person, more in tune with my feelings, calmer, not prone to outbursts, etc, etc. I love it. My wife does too. She likes me better this way. Although she says she doesn't like the boobies.

I know this is an older thread, but being new here I just ran across it. Like many others here, I remove all my body hair - the only hair I have is on my head. I like the smooth look. Been doing it for over ten years (probably longer). No one has ever said anything about my lack of body hair. I wear shorts in the summer, so my bare legs are out there, as is my arms. Wife likes it too, especially the hairless pubes.

I don't care what others think about it (too old for that).

An older thread I read with interest. I am a hirsute and often bearded guy nearing 60 but have since puberty at times shaved and waxed parts and at times all of my body. I’ve stopped trying to understand it other than it’s enjoyable to be that way at times when I feel like it and other times I’ll be my natural hairy self and be happy like that. Not that I’m trying to feminise but now that my T levels are so low I’ve noticed there is a little more weight in my breasts so might wax the chest soon to see if noticeable.

Showing off the legs, at the gym or riding the longboard is a kick. I mostly wear leggings so whether shaved or not is of little concern. As far as "shame" I think that is internalized, perhaps a symptom of disrupting the natural order and making others uncomfortable. I never allow myself to stand out "exposed" in a group on manly men...never ever. The Shame would evolve into anxiety and where from there God only knows.

At the gym my GFs taught me exercises to create shapely legs...nice cone shapes, shaved or not the dudes love 'em....no shame
