TgEunuch : I am 64 and I've also lost 1 inch. I've been chemically castrated 8 years but I don't believe that that has anything to do with castration but rather about nutrition. The lack of good nutriments affects the duplication of DNA which affect the whole body, the lungs, the heart, the liver, the kidneys, the skin, the cartilages and so on. Vitamine C is essential to produce collagen that is essential to cartilages. Modern food lacks of nutriment such as minerals and vitamines. Today, you'd need to eat at least 10 apples to get the same vitamine C as there was in one apple 50 years ago. It's the same for all vitamines. Without supplementation we can't regenerate ourself properly.

About bone lost associated to castration. The lack of T isn't the only reason for osteoporosis. When your body is to acidic, it'll get some of the bone calcium to balance its the PH level. Some food are more acidic, while other are more alkaline. Cereal products, meat, sea food, sugar and dairy products are acidic, while fruits and vegetables are more alkaline. Bone lost along with insuffisant cartilage regeneration are responsible for height lost.

russianboy : Yes it is difficult to live without TRT. We can all do it for a while but eventually as we lose our muscles mass, our strength, our mental clarity and as we develop health issues such as arthritis, obesity, diabetes and so on. Then depression occurs and everything seems to crumble. As far as I am concerned, the only benefit to castration is the lack of libido. I've never heard anyone complaining about it.

I have to disagree as I have found it quite easy since 12/06/97. T free for me please. I am diabetic but so is generations of my family and I was Hypoglycemic before castration so I knew that was coming. I could lose some weight but walking my beagle twice daily for a total of 4 hours helps. I work full time in the hospitality industry and part time as a caregiver. Since I had a few extra hour in the week I start with a new client tomorrow who just needs respite care. At 61 I am active and do not plan slowing down any time soon. This December I will celebrate 20 years as a no T eunuch.

I wish I were like you. After being on no T for 4 years, I've had depression, loss of energy and even interest in life, and gained a lot of weight. And I think I am starting osteoporosis. I started Androgel this year, and many of those side effects went away for me. My doctor is checking if I am indeed starting to lose bones.

But getting osteoporosis is not just a problem about losing height. It is high risk of bone breakage, which could disable us. At least for me, that's not a risk worth taking.

I am still trying to balance my Androgel dosage (below the prescribed dosage by my doctor) so I just get the benefits of testosterone without too much libido.

Please, don't get me wrong. I'm glad that it worked fine for you. If I didn't have all the side effects associated with lack of testosterone, I would have never quitted anti androgen or I would have got myself castrated. Perhaps, my mistake was that I kept working physically hard as I always did. I didn't have the choice to quit, or else drugs would have killed me or I'd have killed myself. In my case it's not just a matter of libido control (since my chem castration period, my libido is under control), it's also a serious BIID problem. This castration Idea still simmers everyday in my mind.
