Wasn't a question of letting the cat out of the bag. It was prevention of bleeding out.

Nobody wants to die in the pursuit of happiness. This is exactly the reason I went to Mexico

in the 90's to an actual doctor for my procedure. Nobody should attempt DIY for this very stories reason.

Please! Seek help and live safe and happily ever after.

To some death can be equal to being forced unwillingly into an existence that has nothing to do with who you are.

You missed the point. We meant that the "victim" or her wife didn't need to get the cutter into trouble. They could have easily gone to the ER and said they did it to themselves, or said that someone did it but refused to give the name. Maybe they were actually mad at the cutter and wanted him charged, but seems totally unnecessary and frankly unthankful if the cutter acted in good faith.

DENVER — Prosecutors have dropped an assault charge against a man who castrated a transgender woman in Denver.

James Pennington, a 57-year-old Chicago-based airline pilot, pleaded guilty Monday to practicing medicine without a license, a misdemeanor, under a deal with prosecutors.

The unidentified transgender woman asked Pennington to perform the surgery and later suffered heavy bleeding. She objected to his prosecution.

Pennington’s lawyer says he offered to help someone who “is a victim of her own body” and is glad that his case brought attention to the struggles of the transgender community.

Chicago’s WLS-TV, which first reported the deal, says Pennington was placed on leave by ExpressJet Airlines after his arrest.

Prosecutors will ask for Pennington to get two years of probation when he’s sentenced Aug. 21.
