Is that result for total testosterone or for free testosterone?

Hi! This is what I can find, between Googling and what my own doctor gave me as reference levels:

Hi all

Need some more advice if poss please.

I have been taking Androcur 100mg for 2 months then 50mg daily for the last 6 months and T levels are very low (please see above).

Urologist has put me on Testogel to increase my testosterone levels and I was wondering if I can still take my Androcur to stop the testosterone being produced by my testicles as I suffered pain in my testicles before taking Androcur and since taking Androcur the pain has stopped.

My doctor is going to take blood tests again in 6 weeks time to check if my testosterone levels have risen so I need to use the Testogel but I want to stop my testicles working.

Hope this makes some sense.

Look forward to your replies

Why would you take testosterone to counteract a testosterone blocker?

I have a feeling your doctor only knows of your testosterone intake since they prescribed it, but not the androcur. You're playing with fire.

Losethem thanks for your reply.

Youre right my doctor does not know about the Androcur but if you read the post I am taking it to shut down my testicles.

You're welcome, but my previous caution stands repeating. There is no point in taking testosterone in your scenario. Not that you shouldn't have it at some point, but you're putting two drugs into your system that will fight one another. Tell your doctor what you want to do, and proceed from there. You should not demand testosterone from them, and then not fill them in that you're taking a testosterone blocker. You want to shut down your balls, not kill yourself.

As harsh as this sounds, you're being foolish, and playing with your long term health.

I would second Losethem's comments. Taking both Testosterone gel and testosterone blocker is just loading up your liver. This is worse than using your body as a test tube, because this is not a test. The two simply fight against each other, and they are both damaging your body in their own ways. And if taken long enough, each of them would do permanent damage.

The question is what do you want in the short term and long term.

IF you wish to just shutdown your testicles, just the Testogel alone eventually would do the job, as the testicles would find too much testosterone in your body and therefor shutdown. But like the body builders who take testosterone, then you could get muscle mass, testosterone rage, and shrinking genitals.

If you want to shutdown the testicles so you get the eunuch calm and feminization, then definitely Testogel is not the route. Androcur alone is what you need, perhaps supplemented with some form of estrogen.

But if the effect of low testosterone is affecting you negatively (which is common, and I have been there myself), then just stopping Androcur would allow your testicles to come back and produce testosterone, and those negative side effects would eventually go away. Of course, your shutting down of the testicles would fail.

If you only wish the eunuch calm and not feminization, like me, then consider supplementing Androcur with Tamoxifen, and anti-estrogen, as I did.

So, you have to be clear in your own mind as to what exactly is your objective. You wish to shut down your testicles to do what? To become what?

But most definitely, you should not combine testosterone gel with testosterone blocker like Androcur.

Not wanting to derail the thread, but I'm curious. If the goal was to shrink the penis and prevent erections, would extra testosterone be more effective than going in the opposite direction and using androcur?
