Test results help needed PLEASE

Post by horny_lynne (imported) »

Hi all

Right had my blood test results back and I am a little confused to honest the results are as follows and help or advice would be great.

Serum Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) 24.7

Free Androgen Index (FAI) 14.9

Testosterone 3.7

I am getting confused as most of the sites I look at state testosterone in ng/dl but test results came back as above.

Am I needing to increase my dosage to get down to near castration levels I am taking 50mg Androcur, 5mg Finasteride and 10mg Tamoxifen should I increase any of these.

Also will Tamoxifen help with wieght loss as I am putting body fat around the wiast since starting Androcur.

Many Thanks

It's probably measured in mmol which is 106.6 in the ng/dl scale.

From what I can make out 9nmo/l testosterone level is the low limit before and you would be a candidate for Testosterone replacement therapy.

So your level of 3.7 is pretty low.

I'd say more like almost there. It's higher than castration levels but it's lower than average male levels by a decent amount.

Unless I know the scale that those numbers use, there is no way to answer your question. There are many ways to measure various things, but we need to know 3.7 of what? Testosterone I get, but not what the 3.7 is measuring in terms of volume. The information should be on your test results, likely an abbreviation just after the number.

I got results from doctors over the telephone so did not see only what they told me.

How old are you?

You're in the bottom 5% in any age range; that number's around 350. You're really very low.
