More about the man who lost his penis to Catherine Becker-Kieu

Post by SplitDik (imported) »

So, most of you know the story of Catherine Becker-Kieu, which is pretty much the most drastic purposeful penectomy story by a wife/girlfriend -- she drugged him, tied him up, waited for him to wake up, made him experience having his penis entirely sliced off, then put it in the garbage disposal. And it happened in the US -- Garden Grove California.

(For anyone interested in having a crazy penis-cutting girlfriend, she'll be out of prison in four years..)

In some news articles about the case, such as http://www.straitstimes.com/world/us-wo ... ands-penis they identify the husband as "Glen" and that he was a "60-year-old man" (in 2013).

In another news article they identify him as Glen B, and since the woman has hyphenated name and is from Vietnam, it is pretty clear that his name is Glen Becker. In comments about the case on one article, someone is more specific and mentions his name is "Glen C Becker".

Anyway, a search for Glen C Becker in Garden Grove gets some hits. He still lives there and runs a fabric wholesaling company. More interestingly though there is also a Facebook hit https://www.facebook.com/glen.becker.14. Now it doesn't say his age, but says he graduated from Van Nuys High School. If you go to the school's website and search for alumni there is a hit on a Glen Becker who graduated in 1969. That would make him between 63 and 64 which matches the age.

The Facebook page has a picture of him -- he seems like a pretty handsome, healthy guy. Must be really crazy to be without a penis when he clearly could get women. He said of the injury during the sentencing phase of the case:

Recalling the moment she mutilated him, he said Kieu first pulled on his shorts.

"I didn't really understand what she was doing ..I looked down and I saw something metallic, silver, shiny. I still didn't know what was going on.

"I felt her grab hold of my penis. I was very surprised. All of a sudden I felt a very sharp pain and she had cut my penis off and then threw it on the carpet next to the bed." At first he felt "excruciating" pain.

"But I must've gone into shock because the pain subsided," he said, adding that he recalled his wife picking up his penis and leaving the room.

"The next thing I heard was the garbage disposal .. I don't know how long that went on - a long time," he said.

A short time later Kieu returned and he asked her to call for an ambulance.

She held the phone up so he could talk to the 911 dispatcher. She put a towel over his groin, which was bleeding heavily.

He spent a few days in hospital and underwent surgery but "not reconstructive surgery," in an operation "to make it usable as far as going to the bathroom.

"Of course, I will never have a sex life again," he said. "The healing process may never be completely finished. My mental state is improving, but it may never be what it was before."

Before receiving the seven years-to-life prison sentence, Kieu’s husband addressed her in the Orange County courtroom. He said he was victimized twice: once during his wife’s criminal act and a second time by having to relive the incident through the trial.

Kieu “viciously deprived me of part of my life and identity. Then, as is routine in cases of violence that involve something sexual, the victim must endure, at the hands of the defense, a second attack,” the husband said Friday. “This was a cruel and calculated violation of a person’s body and mind. I now struggle with what is before me. She has torn off my identity as a man. She has caused doubt in my belief in good. She has betrayed my trust in people.”

She did it with some, "class".

Not just using the garbage disposal at the end but -

Serving him dinner laced with sleeping medicine.

tying him to the bed as he fell asleep

then doing the deed.

A plan that far out classed Ms. Bobbit. 📏

It appears that Ms. Bobbitt acted impulsively--"temporary insanity"--whereas Catherine carefully planned what she did for maximum emotional effect.

I wonder if he reacted with knife or a gun, would it be considered justifiable homicide. You can't use self defence as an excuse.

But then she was smart to drug him and tie him down.

7 yrs is far too lenient a sentence, it is a joke. In some countries the penalty would be death. There should be no possibility of parole for at least 20 yrs.

YOU just don't appreciate "the art" of it all.

Her well thought out plan. Intended for the man separating from her. And she did likewise to him.

Add to that the cultural acceptance for such activities among some Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai women who feel abused.

It isn't as if she is some Swedish blond chick although Latina's are well represented too.

It is like that with the sentences for a lot of crimes, the victim still loses more of their life than the perpetrator does. I find that happens a lot for financial crimes actually -- if someone steals your life savings, they've effectively stolen your life. All those days of your life you gave up working, wearing out your mind and body, in order to make some savings and then to lose that and now lose the rest of your life cause you can't retire -- I think that is equivalent to murder. Basically, anything where you victimize a person such that the quality of life is ruined for the rest of their life, the sentences should be life sentences.

By the way, murderers can often get out after seven years or so, depending on the jurisdiction.

Consider the sentence of the guy who cut off the arms below the elbows of a older teen runaway.

He served his time and got out and she still has no forearms/hands.

BTW I feel the same about someone who causes spinal paralysis, paraplegia / quadriplegia in another.

That's more than just the loss of a phallus.

That's like "half a body" or more.

Phallus, legs, bladder control, bowel control, etc.

Meanwhile I still believe this lady was only a hazard to the man who wronged her, as she believed.

And she did it so artistically. Not at all, impulsive ala Lorena if y'believe that.

Imagine if he woke up and found himself transformed into

and sold as an exotic prostitute in Thailand. 📏
