Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (the movie)

Post by Dave (imported) »

What can one say about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ? ? ?

It's a retelling of the Victorian Romance that every English teacher seems to have fallen in love with recast with zombies.

A romance of victorian manners with the undead. Treat it like the fun adventure it wants to be.

Matt Smith (remember him as "Dr WHO") is the grand comic relief as Collins the Preacher.

It's much more fun than the original.

Ignore all the historical goofiness involved.

Yeah, the carrion flies added to the ghoulishness.

I'll watch it again, too...

I liked the "unmarked zombie graveyard." Like, who buries zombies in shallow graves and takes the time and money to provide headstones? The British!

I was viciously and insultingly (no, I'm just being a drama queen ;) ;) ) told that Pride and Prejudice is the Regency Period and not the Victorian Period.

(ps, I'm still giggling to myself. I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and giggle out loud.)

I wouldn't like to try to bury a zombie in case it bit me.

There is a lot to be said for cremation all you have to do is to keep the thing in that box long enough for the furnace to kick in.:)

BTW I live next to a graveyard and the wall around it seems to keep em out of my garden.

SPOILER ALERT:

But the PP&Z type of zombies don't become rabid and true zombies until they consume human brains. Until the time they eat human brains, they can be civil and cunning. That makes them more dangerous.

It's a plot point.

Spoiler: At one point there is a fake religious service with a pig-brain communion to keep the zombies docile.

So I guess that the loved ones in the graveyard went willingly to keep from embarrassing their families -- stiff upper lip and all that British upper class stuff.

Depending on climate, in some cases, all you need with the zombie infestation is winter and baseball bat. First wait till they turn into funny ice statues. Then use the baseball bat.
