Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood star in a loose adaptation of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency on BBC-America.
Written by Max Landis who is the son of John (Hi, I'm Rula Lenska) Landis. (inside joke)
A corgi, a kitten, a murder, a missing person, a broke bellboy, a crazed assassin, and various police groupings of local/CIA/FBI, and something else... and who is that woman in the red room?
Advise:
a) good luck ... it's a trip
b) get your towel and a good stiff drink
c) Everything is chaos, but its synchronized, Dirk tells Todd. There is always something ready to mirror itself life turning inward.
To be serious:
If you like WILFRED, then you will like this.
It is genre and character development with a plot happening in the background. All of Douglas Adam's stories are like that.
It's fun and absurdist humor. Once again, that is the nature of Douglas Adam's story.
And, I've read that it will take the first two episodes to determine what is going on.

Re: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
I watched episode 2 and it might be making sense. One night I will watch episode 3 and perhaps some story will arise.
There is a story here.
Just not an obvious story.

I just watched Ep. 1, and I think it lobotomized me.
I hate you for mentioning this.
LOL!
Just kidding.
Strange, to say the least.

Episode 3 starts to make some sense but since this is a Douglas Adam's piece of craziness, expect chaos and odd things.
I might watch episode 4 tonight, too. Depends on how episode 3 ends.
oh wait -- definitely #4 because Frodo's sister is starting to make sense.
So is Dirk.
added: definitely yes to #4 and onward

Re: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
Episode 5 -
Dirk just said to Todd that the kitten is the shark
It really is a Holistic thing.
And Todd is a creep and an asshole and a tosser and a jagoff ...
That should cover most nationalities and continents.

Episode 6 --
Dirk and Todd actually find out the truth, sort of...
All the strange events are coming together and making sense.

Re: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
And Episode 6 ends in a cliffhanger...
That means there is a season 2
I enjoyed this. It's wild enough to maintain my interest.
