Re: New Survey

Hello there,

I found the questions intriguing. However, as a (biologically born) woman, there were not many I could answer. I hope my participation did not, mess up the survey. This subject has been an interest of mine for quite sometime. One might say, I have had a 'fascination-with-castration'... for a very long time. Particularly, the emotional / psychological effects. They can be dramatic. No two individuals handle the (often) drastic changes, in the same fashion.

I hail from a medical family. However, my work is security. As such, all my experience is with men losing the 'crown jewels' involuntarily. That is, thru accident, disease, or violence. Is there any chance of some kind of survey (in future) dealing with this kind of circumstance? Specifically, how men (and the women in their lives) deal with the loss of their gonads? My (limited) experience is that, responses run the gamut. Some lives fall apart; alcohol abuse, depression, divource and so on. However, others have adjusted well. This includes those that, have not had hormone therapies. Granted, this is a minority of a minority.

My interest has largely to do with orchidectomy, as a potential treatment for recidivist sexual predators. I do mean treatment, not punishment. Personally, I find it barbaric to punish the commission of an atrocity, with another atrocity. However, voluntary surgical castration (after extensive psychological examination) is another matter entirely. The so-called 'eunuch calm' can be of benefit to all. Thank you, for the survey.

I also took the survey a few day ago, so I am one of these 600.

Perhaps there should be some questions about removal of body hair. In my case this is also an aspect of my gender dysphoria.

I started to take the survey, but it doesn't seem geared for those of us whose primary interest is penectomy.

While it may not seem so on first read, some of the questions are very important for our better understanding of those who either have been or want to be penectomized or nullifed. An important goal of this survey is to be able to convey to medical practitioners what xenomelia (BIID) is and why it is so important to properly serve those who need help. Many of the questions have already been asked (and validated) with other populations, so any, even minor, variations shown will be apparent and useful.

If you know anyone who has been penectomized or nullified or who is even fantasizing about it, please ask them to take the survey. Their responses will help everyone.

I tried to reply to the survey (it was a week or so ago), but... I no longer can remember the exact ages/dates asked, and sometimes the questions were... not sure how to put it..

I just replied to the survey. Having read the above comments and other explanatory posts by Jesus, I took advantage of opportunities in the essay answers to directly answer the question, then add more in elaboration for whatever additional interest it may satisfy or provoke among the researchers.

My present status is 9 weeks after my long-preferred (but only when necessary), fully insurance-covered surgical castration option for recurrent prostate cancer's compelling need for me to go T-free. That op promptly abolished my libido and penile erections, but most of the survey questions and my answers pertain to my life and interests before being castrated.

I'm feeling much more that I've gone M-to-m ("m" meaning just a hormonally diminished male) than M-to-E where E is a differently-oriented former M and identifies as a third, in-between gender, whether by preference or unavoidably. Either m or E would be OK by me if true, but "m" is the more descriptive so far.
