Hello, often I read about warnings about a high cancer risk with not natural testosterone.

Is this a true (what is the reason?) fact or not?

Most of ftm transgender also get artificial T, but I never read anything about a higher risk for cancer among this group. So I strongly tend to think it is just some kind of hoax or myth.

I've never heard anything about a cancer risk either. My primary care doc cautioned me about an elevated risk of stroke and/or heart attack if I use artificial T but I take meds for blood pressure and A Fib so I suppose my risk is elevated even without supplemental T. Hot flashes and some weight gain are the only 2 things I don't like about no T but they're not anything close to being bad enough for me to use supplemental T.

It's been almost a year since my surgery. I have absolutely no regrets and I enjoy the inner peace and uniqueness that being a eunuch brings. That being said, I'm 72. If I were half my age I might not feel that way.

My current PSA score has risen significantly recently, after starting TRT several years ago. My urologist is aware of the current test results and might prescribe that I stop using it if it continues to increase when it is tested again.

There is a cancer risk with natural testosterone also...... it depends on many variables.

I think so. I believe that T should never be taken by mouth, but by injection, spray or gel. T by mouth for too long, I think is associated with cancer.

Yes, by mouth is not a good idea!

Natural T has an influence on prostate cancer, too. Low T levels seem to have an positive effect on the treatment of this kind of cancer. So I think there is no big difference if your T is natural or artificial.

Over the counter products containing saw palmetto, used to shrink the prostate, actually work by suppressing the production of testosterone. For some men with prostate cancer, particularly older men, castration is sometimes performed to slow the growth of the cancer. I had surgery for my prostate cancer as the urologist said I was too young to be castrated. While I still have my testicles, the good news is I am cancer free.
