Re: Storys
It can be a pain, and it does that to me all the time, in posting and reading.
Clear out your Internet temp files, cache, and all that.
You might try using a new private window that does not keep history.
It is not unusual for me to have to log in, click an index or story title, and have to log in again. When I hit BACK, and pick another story, I have to log in again.
It's just a quirk you'll have to live with.

Re: Storys
I noticed the same thing, but have just re-logged each time. It has to do with the session token life value that is passed from page to page as you browse the fiction archive. When you log in successfully a token, just think of it as an imaginary flag within the programming script running behind the scenes, is created with your login user ident. For security purposes, the life of this session token will eventually expire. So if you log in, and go about reading something, by the time you finish, depending on the length of what you are reading, the session token may have expired and require you to authenticate again. It also typically expires if you close your browser and reopen it again. I haven't looked at the site code itself, but this is my best guess as to why you have to re-log so often. I've also noticed that the site is storing usernames AND passwords in the password box so, if javascript is disabled within the browser, and one clicks on the password field, the usernames and passwords will show up in a drop down list. This can be prevented by not storing site credentials within your browser, or clearing everything before closing the browser, or running incognito mode. Hopefully this helped clarify the issue.
