Thank you everyone. I never imagined how good life could be when I started on this journey, but I'm so grateful I was able to achieve it.

The immense light that comes into your life when you no longer hate your body is something that those who have not been so afflicted will never understand. I'm grateful others are able to achieve this with less hassle and trouble than I had, and I'm glad I had a significant role in helping that come to pass. In many ways I feel like my contribution to this community is complete, and that I have a legacy within it. It's now time for others to pick up the mantle and continue the fight to ensure we're able to keep what has been so hard won from the medical establishment.

I'm so happy when I see all the work that went into things these past few years, has helped others find their path to this happiness.

Once again June 23rd has come around which means one thing for me...

It's now been 9 years since I achieved my goal, and I'd not have it any other way. Nobody can EVER take this away from me, but unfortunately since I had mine done, it's become a point of contention for people who feel they have the right to dictate to us how we live our lives, despite screaming as loud as they can when they feel even the slightest inkling of anyone doing something similar to them.

I have a rather significant piece of advice and recommendation to the community of folks coming after me on this, my 9th nulloversary.

This year I've been purposely stepping back from active involvement in maintaining and keeping this hard won freedom for our community. It's now up to those of you coming after me to ensure you're able to keep this access to care. You have a lot of pressure from the, "Do as I say, not as I do..." and "Rules for thee but not for me..." crowds. You're going to have to fight, otherwise you're going to lose this.

I stand ready to give advice, but I'm tired... I've done my part to help all of you have access to care. But now you need to fight; and you need to fight hard, and fight often. Because they're coming for you/us. If you wait for someone else to pick up this effort, you're going to lose your access to care.

Don't let it happen.

Thank you for all that you have done to get us the access to care that we have today. I certainly hope it continues, and expands to places it isn't as good yet.

I may be overly optimistic, but there is that old saw about first they ignore you, then they fight you and then you win.... If that pattern holds, the current opposition could almost be seen as a GOOD thing...

As a straight guy I didn't have to live through it directly, but I remember that when I was growing up to many years ago, homosexuality was an all but unmentionable 'perversion' and beating up faggots was a socially acceptable recreational activity... Then we got AIDS with all the rude remarks about "Another Infected Dick Sucker" and worse, not to mention it being 'divine intervention'... When I met my GF, and as we were deciding to make it permanent, it was in the "Defense of Marriage Act" era, and we deliberately decided NOT to get legally married as a protest against a legal status our gay friends and relatives couldn't get.... Now it seems to me like being LGBTQ+ is an all but "who cares" non-issue, our gay friends get married regularly (My GF and I haven't bothered to, as after all these years we don't see a need for the gov't (or church) to tell us what our relationship is...)

So first they ignored the 'queers', then they fought them, and from where I sit, it looks like now the 'queers' have mostly won.... So my hope is that we will see that pattern repeat for us eunuchs...

Wheely, I'm going to be polite and say you should have stopped at the end of your second paragraph. Writing "No offense intended" means you understood what was said is offensive but decided to post it anyway.

While I'm sure you were well intentioned, it was inapproriate all the same. I'm sure you've had similar issues with your particular difficulties with mobility. I'd not want to say anything offensive to you either, despite the fact you've probably heard it all. I'm sure you'd not appreciate someone being that insensitive in your own situation.

Again, I appreciate your being well intentioned, but please be mindful of this in the future.

And after all that, thank you. I do appreciate the other kind comments you made in response to my 9th nulloversary.
