Huntin' & Killin'

Post by Paolo »

Now I know why I never took up raccoon hunting, which is all the rage with the local Rednecks here.

I just dragged out of bed by the sounds of the black dog outside, in combat with a coon the size of a VW Beetle.

For anyone who isn't familiar with my dog, he's a Belgian Shepherd mix, and looks like a big black wolf with a collie's muzzle.

Jesus A. can attest to the size of the monster dog.

He'd hurt the coon pretty bad, it ran up the tree; I blasted it out with the double barrel, along with some limbs and a lot of leaves. So much for pruning.

The dog had it as soon as it hit the ground, and it's thoroughly dead now.

Me and my jarred nerves and aching shoulder are going back to bed.

Note to self: do NOT discharge both barrels at once!

Both barrels?🔫🙅 SMH NEVER do both barrels unless several uninvited guests are coming through the door at the same time. Even then alternate barrels is still better.

One way of feeding the dog.... well at least its fresh.

I'm sure opening a tin of "Chum" is easier though😄.

Both barrels? Damn, I'm surprised that your dog didn't start the grill and fry hamburgers after that blast.

I guess you don't live in the city limits where discharging a firearm is illegal. Paolo must be a country boy :)

True, and if I could get my hands on an atom bomb, I'd have one of those, too.

Surprisingly, the dog didn't try to eat the carcass. He was more interested in showing it to me and hearing what a good dog he was.

It's pretty funny that I have killed thousands of animals in my lifetime and am completely unfazed by animal gore and animal slaughter, yet I'm this effeminate wimp that nobody would expect to harm a fly.

Nothing beats rural life. Gotta love waking yourself up in the morning by firing a few pistol rounds right out your bedroom window. Stub your toe really bad? Nothing fixes that better than firing a few rounds out the window. So on and so forth. Pretty fun stuff.

Do you open the window first?

If not, then you are a redneck.
