i want to say this today.

Anyone wanting to watch PREACHER or AMERICAN GODS should be aware that both treat "God" in ways that are not acceptable to most devout religious people.

The difference is that AMERICAN GODS is in respectful of Faith and the power of faith and the faithful. It respects those who believe.

It is a very dense and thoughtful (Although quite enjoyable) story about the power of faith and "god," or many "gods."

PREACHER just trashes faith and in many ways abuses religion. It is a satire and isn't gentle. It's brutal in its comedy...

So be prepared.

Episode two happened...

The first two segments (roughly 16 minutes) are bloody. . .

The story of Preacher Jesse's journey to find God (who is roaming around the earth) is coming together.

SOKOSHA -- season 2, episode 6

Jesse meets the Saint of Killers and much is revealed about both their origins.

The show is back to its weirdness with souls being take, voodoo priests, and Jesse's Mother's maiden name. She was from New Orleans.

TC, the big fat guy that Tulip was running from, knew her and Jesse. He worked for Jesse's grandmother Marie L'Angell. I think that's who he is.

I also think that Herr Starr made his first appearance.

Sorry if none of this makes any sense.

I really like this show, but not sure why. This is a show like Twin Peaks where I have to go with the flow knowing it may eventually make sense. Nice journey as well!

Episode 9 -- Puzzle Piece

Herr Starr is becoming the villain.

I'm really not sure of what I could say about PREACHER. Season 2 is like passing a bad wreck on the highway -- you hope not to see blood but slow down long enough just to see blood.

Episode (oh who cares anymore...) Dirty Little Secret ...

Preacher just went there and showed Jesus (not our Jesus, that other, historical one) having ragingly wild sex with a woman.

And it was when the Disciples fell asleep in the Garden of Gethsemane -- as Jesus said, he visited the garden of a sick woman's house just because she needed him. I mean ragingly wild sex...

Episode 11 -- backdoors

The plot lines are coming together...

Very strange episode -- visions of Hell in Hell, Hitler, the Saint of Killer's gun, and a man in a dog suit.

I'm having trouble with PREACHER because of its strange sense of humor.

This second season and most of the printed story is about the strange adventures of Jesse Custer searching for God (who is hiding out on earth because he abdicated his seat in Heaven). Along with that, Jesse is possessed by the power to command certain things to happen (the Voice of Genesis).

At one point near the end of this latest episode Jesse uses the voice and tells one of the other characters to stick some audio tapes up his ass. The man must do that. In a subsequent seen, the man is shown bending forward over a table and begin him (with very obvious motions) is a pile of brown audio tapes obviously being crammed up his rectum. Some days of the week more than others -- that's hard for me to take as quick and witty humor. I'm not always prepared for that as humor.

In another episode, the very strange "bad guy leader" orders his flunky to procure some sex for him. The flunky doesn't realize that the "bad guy leader" is straight ant arranged 3 big dudes with anal rape on their minds. It's kind of like a bizarre running joke in a couple episodes.

So that's been my oddness about saying anything in this thread. It takes me almost a week to figure out what the hell is happening.

The End of the Road -- Episode 13

All the sins of previous shows are forgiven. The season finale ties everything together but you can't watch only this episode because so much depends on the development leading up to it.

We learn lots about Jesse's family -- the L'Angelle clan in Angelville

Eugene breaks out of hell ... with Adolf Hitler

Herr Stark almost gets his messiah

Cassidy and Denis have their father/son moment

I said to friends that I felt 3 or 4 confessions would be necessary after I watched this.

SEASON 3 BEGINS...

Tulip returns from the dead with Jesse's Granma -- Madame Marie L'Angell in Angelville -- a blood pact that is wicked dark and evil.

However, Tulip while being reincarnated receives a message from God (the man in the latex dog gimp suit) to Kill Stark and his followers...

Stark still holds the Messiah but the man is a moron.

Episode 2 is more weirdness in Angelville -- turns out there's a rival family that does voodoo...

Stark and his white clothed followers appear.

Marie L'Angell does some bad things.

It's all so wild and crazy and WATCHABLE because it isn't Law and Order procedural or Hospital Show maudlin OR soap-opera silliness or Talk-show asininity
