I hate to admit it, but I'm finally stumped.
Usually, when I need software, I can either steal it or crack it and use it. HOWEVER, this one has got me. After 5 hours on the Internet looking, I give up.
I need a program which can recover deleted image files from a compact flash media card in a Microtech drive ... internal SCSI connection in a Windows 2000 / NT environment. I have found a few demo versions which CAN call up the previews of the files found, but it won't save them back unless you buy the full version. Needless to say, the prices are insane.
Please PM me if anyone out there has such a program.
Let this be a lesson to all those enamoured with the digital camera rage - stuff like this doesn't happen to a NEGATIVE.
(And no, it wasn't me. I never erase a card until I've made 2 hard drive copies and 2 CD's of all the images.)

Re: Call for Help
I don't have any suggestions for the programs you are looking for, I'm just weighing in to say that "cracking" "stealing" or whatever are just what the second word says: stealing.
I strongly object to the theft of property from others.
I personally either buy software or do without.
I suspect that those who will reply by saying that cracking or stealing software is just a fine upstanding thing to do will say that only so long as others are not stealing things from them.

clip...
Open a DOS window and use a DOS undelete program. At least with the media I use the card is formatted as FAT 16 volume.
You can get a program $$$ from LC Technology International, Inc. to recover the files.

I'll have to try that tomorrow morning. That's one I didn't find in a search. Thanks, I'll let you know.

Re: Call for Help
So Paolo you have been stumped? Does Bboy know about this?
Seriously, I hope you have been able to resolve your issue.
As good as "the digital world" and "new technology is", life used to be a whole lot simpler, cheaper and hassle free in the past.
Still, without all these advances we couldn't exchange views
here could we?

Re: Call for Help
It worked.
It took the program 24 hours on a 1.5 gig speed machine to analyze a 16mb card, but it did it.
Then again, Microtech's scsi card readers aren't the fastest things in the world either.
Thanks!
