Orchiectomy Scheduled!!!

Post by Hopeful1 (imported) »

For next Tuesday, 4/26 in the morning. I have to see my PCP for surgical clearance tomorrow and the surgeon's office will call me Monday to tell me when to be there Tuesday. Even though this is recommended by my therapist as part of my transition, my urologist is writing it up as chronic epididymitis causing orchalgia on the left side and cryptorchidism on the right. He's writing it this way and not mentioning anything about transgender to insure medicare and insurance pay for it.

That's great news. Congrats!

Do you know if your surgery will be through the scrotum or inguinally through the abdomen? And under local or general anesthesia? Mine was local through the scrotum, and I healed easily. Good luck!!!

Today is the day! Congrats. I remember how elated I was when my urologist said he would remove my testicles. I hope you're enjoying the same feelings. And you're having it done in a hospital by a real doctor. IMHO, the only way to go. Kudos to your doc for handling the paperwork right so insurance will pay for it. Keep us posted on your recovery. Don't push yourself. Take it easy, give your body time to heal.

Yes, let us know how's going. I have it in fresh memory, I'm 4 days after my orchi and feelings are wonderful! I hope it will work for you same way.

Done. As it says for status over my avatar, "Fully Qualified Member." Hardly any pain at all. Of course the oxycodone might have something to do with that.

👉Hopeful1, I think you just waked up from anesthesia in recovery room and checking with your hand if they are gone for real… Well, I cannot be there in person to congratulate you, but I will send you a virtual hug 🤗 Take it easy (if you can) and get well soon! 🌹

P.S. I drove a car after tree surgeries.

Hopeful1, are you still in the hospital? I was writing my previous post when you were writing yours…
