My depo provera usage and present goals.

Last year I tried a single 150 mg injection of Depo Provera to calm my sex drive. The effects took about 3 weeks to manifest themselves. The effects were suble, but I could definately feel a difference between week 3 and 5, after that things pretty much wore off. It took about 14 weeks for my sex drive to fully return to normal after the initial shot. To keep this post short, here is a list of both positive and negative side effects that I noticed. Positive effects #1. My nocturnal and spontanious errections stopped completely. Getting up in the middle of the night and in the morning to pee was a lot easier without the inflexability and spattering while urinating with an errection. #2. I masterbated alot less and my libido was lower than normal. I went from masterbating about 4+ times a day to about 1 or 2 times every 2-3 days. #3. During week 4 my sex drive declined to the point were I was no longer visually stimulated by the site of a woman passing by on the street. During this period I masterbated 1 time just to see if I would experience any difficulties. #4. I was able to relax and sleep alot better during my peak weeks. I no longer tossed and turned thinking about sex which usally became overwhelming enough to keep me up late masterbating in search of relief. #5. I felt a little less stress and was a little more mellow and easy going for a short time. I experience a lite calming effect, but it was only slight and now where near like the eunuch calm described on the board. #6. During the peak of the drugs effects, I began to see things from a new non sexual point of view. It was no where as pronounced as I had hoped it would be, but it felt like the beginning of a fantastic and liberating experience for the handful of days that it lasted. #7. Achieving and maintaining errections became a little more difficult. It required more concentration and physical stimulation to achieve and maintain an errection. During my peak weeks I required constant penile stimulation to stay errect and my errections were of less intensity. #8. I felt better and was more mentally focused. Without the constant need to relieve my sexual urges I was able to become more productive in my daily activities. The bad effects were very minor and trivial. #1. The shot leaves you a little sore for a few days. I had a simular type of shot in the butt administered by a nurse with a larger dose of medicine and no soreness. I think my self injection skills need more practice. #2. I had a short lived case of adult acme that was probabely caused be a change in testosterone levels. Since it went away as quickly as it came, it's safe to say that with continued use acme wouldn't be a problem once your hormones stabilized. #3. I became more sensitive to temperature changes, and experience cold chills more than normal. I know plenty of other people who are the same way, so I don't consider this to be a problem or abnormal in any way. #4. I seemed to bruise easier than before. Nothing bad, just tiny little bruises that appeared more frequentely than normal. It's possible that this problem was purely coincidental. Overall, my experience was very pleasant and uneventful. I didn't experience any loss of energy and remained sexually functional throughout the 3 months. I was a little more in control of my sexual urges that were still present , but at a lower level. One thing I did learn from my experience is that I don't like living with a high libido. I found myself in a conflicting situation since I'm married, so I waited until my sex drive was at its lowest point, so I had a clear head before I told her what I was doing. At first she was pretty upset, but after a few days she came around and we talked about the problems that I was having and how much better my moods have been and why. I put her at rest by explaining that I had researched everything and that it was safe and only temporary. And since we were planning a family in two years that wouldn't be a problem once I stopped taking it. She had a hard time understanding at first, but in the end she said if it makes me happy than she would support me. Since then she agreed to let me try a higher dosage for a short time to see if I preferred a reduced libido or total castration. She seemed open to the future posibility of surgery if I decided that that's what I wanted. About 3 days ago I had my first injection of 450 mg. After this my dose will depend on my level libido and sexual functioning. My goal is to achieve total castration and go with it if I like it for a few months. After that I will have made my decision and will go off of it until the time is right for both of us. At that time it will be under the supervision of a doctor. Well thats my situation, I will keep you posted and have a happy new year.

May I ask, how did you get the doctors to give you depo provera? Did you tell them that your sex drive was going out of control?

Nat i am curently on depo provera i have been for seven monthes i get a 150 mg injection once a month .My wife is very suportave of me for many reasons for one i am a lot calmer and i find it is easer to get along with her and others.Reacently i started taking low amount of estergen that has stoped erections all togaether. Reading your post i can compleatly relate to what you are felling.Good luck.

Right now I'm using Depo Provera from an online pharmacy. If I decide to remain in a castrated state sometime in the future I want it to be supervised by a doctor. I don't think it's healthy to stay on an anti-androgen for more than a year, so if I do decide to go all the way, i'm going the natural route and opt for surgery with no HRT. It's just a theory, but I think with the right diet and regular exercise having no testosterone may be more benificial for some of us than remaining intact. I think that the health problems associated with being a eunuch are directly related to the failure to meet your bodies changing needs after castration. With the right lifestyle the male body should be able to perfectly adjust to a testosterone free hormonal state. I'm keeping an open mind about the whole thing, and right now I'm just experimenting.

It's not your injection skills that are the problem. Depo-Provera is a suspencion, hence the name depo, short for deposit. Once injected, the powder stays in the muscle & is slowly released into the system. I know, with me, the pain lasts for 3 days & then slowly diminishes. I can still feel a lump at the injection site for about 2 weeks. I have been injecting meds intra-gluteally

for quite some time & with other, pure liquids the pain lasts maybe less than a day.

For thoes worried about injection i wouldent let that bother you .I have been getting depo provera inj now 150 mil once a monthe for the past 15 monthes now and thay very rearley cause any sorness and onley mildley at that so dont be bothered by thies injections.And yes by all means you should be monitored by your doctor.

I have been on Depo for several months now. I started and then stopped after a few months. Then I ordered another batch and have been taking it ever since. I started with a 300mg dose and then have taken 150mg injections each month. I also take estrofem and androcur. I am effectively castrated. The Depo really works. The first time I gave myself the shots I got really excited. I knew that my sex life would end as the Depo did its job. I get the Depo from an online pharmacy. I am happy with my results.
