I am thinking about castration. How to live after surgery without testosterone replacement?

Keep breathing. Don't forget to eat. And don't stop doing the things that bring you joy.

In most ways, it's just like living before surgery.

Do you have any specific questions about what changes?

Erections. I know about sex inability. And what about masturbation? Weight gain? Masculinity? Beard, body hair, moustaches? Energy loss.

Masturbation

I think I've masturbated three or four times since I became a eunuch in June of last year (~9 months ago). The last time was in November 2015 (~4 months ago). I have very little desire to do so, and it doesn't really enter into my mind very often anymore. I'm actually thankful for that, as that is one of the main reasons I did it.

Erections

I haven't had a full erection since I was castrated. I sometimes wake up with half erections in the morning, but as soon as I get out of bed, they go away.

Weight Gain

I don't think I've gained weight since I was castrated; however, I am pretty health conscious; I watch what I eat, and I exercise daily.

Masculinity

I'm not sure how to answer this. When dogs are castrated, they are still considered male dogs, only neutered. I guess that's how I feel about my gender, male but neutered.

Body Hair

I haven't experienced any change in body or facial hair.

Energy Loss

I do think I have lost some strength and endurance. As a measure of strength, before my procedure I was able to back squat about 245 lbs, but recently I was struggling with 200 lbs. Pretty much with any weight lifting, I am not able to do as much as I was able to before the procedure. For endurance, I don't think I'm able to run as fast or as far as I was before the procedure.

Memory Loss

I mentioned this somewhere else, but I think my memory may not be as good as it was before the procedure. I have 27 lists of 20 things that I memorized a several years ago. I recite 10 of the 27 lists most mornings on my way to work. That would be 10 lists of 20 things, so it would be 200 things. After the procedure, I noticed that it took me more time to go through the things than before the procedure.

When you get old, three things happen:

1. Your memory goes,

2. Your hair turns gray,

3. .....um........

Turning 70, I realized I no longer care what people think about what and who I am. It is liberating. When I finish with my body, no one will be able to say shame on me. You cant be charged with exposing your genitalia if you have no genitalia.
