Lateral Incision?

I had sent an e-mail to Dr. McGinn's office asking about the incision for an orchiectomy with GCS in the future. Her PA sent back they recommend a lateral incision and definitely not inguinal. Anyone had a lateral incision? They actually want my urologist to call their office but I know, as busy as he is, that's not going to happen.

Just had a lateral cut last Friday. lots of bruising and swelling, no pain . Looks a mess but I am assured there is no difference once it has all healed up.

Stephanie, may I ask if the incision was fore or aft? My right side was undescended and I had an orchipexy age 12. It's reascended over the years and will barely come out of the canal. I would think a lateral incision would have to be fairly high to be able to reach and remove the right side.

Hi, it was at the top of the scrotum about an inch below the base of the penis about 2 inches long, 4 dissolving stitches .If you look for stephaniesteve1 on fet life you will find I have posted some pics.

Hmm, cant find your account there...

But I think, a cut in scrotum has much less pain or complications then the inlingual one.

I have a vasectomy there with two 1 inch incisions and have had no real pain or other complications from it.

Ah, ok, without the 1 at the end is one people available.

My incision was at the bottom because my urologist removed much of my scrotum at the same time. The hard spot where he sewed it all back together is slowly disappearing as the scar tissue dissipates. Hardly noticeable now.

I had an incision of about 1 inch on both sides of my scrotum and each testicle was pulled out and cut off. No noticeable scars and 9 months later I had my scrotum cut off. Very neat line nearly invisible.

Thanks everyone. Of course I'm not having any extra tissue removed as that will all be needed later.
