After hours of work, I've complied a spreadsheet with the top rated (as of today) stories at EA.
They contain title, whether G, S, A, etc., ratings/stars count, and minor themed or not.
Of 567 entries, only 176 involve minors, 1 in passing, and a few at 17/18.
A couple are marked "extreme" for theme.
If you'd like a copy of this data, please email me through the forums.
Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
Re: Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
I've seen the ratings the P has put together. An amazing amount of informative work. Thanks, P.

Re: Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
Although I have written a few stories involving teenagers I did so in the sense of self discovery and exploration from their point of view, I suppose most notably would be the Andy and Aaron stories. I'm not a fan of abuse themed stories when it comes to minors, not passing judgment, just not my thing. I was curious as to why you highlighted the fact that 176/567 top rated stories were minor themed? Is there an underlying issue besides the obvious controversy of such subject matter?
Re: Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
The controversy of minor-aged characters is the controversy. It's always been a delicate subject, and I was most intrigued to see the number SO LOW. I felt that it was worth mentioning.
One reason that EA went independent of BME was the fact that some stories involved minor characters.
In a nutshell, I was told, some years ago, to pull every story that even said something like, "And the paperboy waved as he rode by on his bike." Even if he never reappeared in the narrative.
My reply was a firm "NO."
Also, from the survey data collected by Jesus, it would seem that the ages of 11-12 are the most common for development of castration fixation.
Never mind what has actually been done to minors, historically. But that's a topic for the Nonfiction forum.

Re: Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
I went through the list of top stories that Paolo compiled and sorted them by author. Heres a listing of the top authors for those 567 stories. Ive only listed those with 5 or more stories on the list.
ANONYMOUS ......... 31
UNKNOWN ......... 37
Zoroaster ......... 32
Nathan ......... 29
Mandler ......... 16
Mark ......... 16
Atreyu69 (or 88) ......... 14
Zipper ......... 12
Byzwriter ......... 11
jockpussy ......... 9
Rob Cole ......... 8
martineasy ......... 7
Missing ......... 6
BangleBalls ......... 6
curious_guy ......... 6
darkboy ......... 6
Erik ......... 6
BullGator ......... 5
Chad Addison ......... 5
jearns85 ......... 5
Paolo ......... 5
I think its also interesting that 6 of the stories were originally posted in 1997 (the first year of the Archive) and 129 of them were posted before the end of 2000. Some of the very old stories are still very popular. Over half of the top rated stories (298) were posted before the end of 2005. Rating the stories only began with the transfer to the new system a couple of years ago, so it's not that the old stories have been accumulating votes for many years.

Re: Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
Another note of interest, in looking at the top 101 rated stories by classification, where:
A=no real sexual scenes/elements
B=bisexual
F=female theme (clit cutting, FGM, etc.)
G=gay
S=straight
T=transgender
A=7, 7%
B=8, 8%
F=1 ~1%
G=41, 41%
S=38, 38%
T=6, 6%
22 of these carry a minor theme, where at least one character is "our hero": 22%, where M=minor characters:
T, M=2
S, M=6
G, M=9
B, M=4
A, M=1
Figures rounded up (40.6% -> 41%)
Of the G-theme, ~22% have a minor character
Of the S-theme, ~16% have a minor character (or more)
Why 101? Because I like to go one step further.

Re: Top Rated Stories Spreadsheet
Wow, lots of good information! Thanks a lot for sharing!
Jesus: I assumed that many of the older stories had high marks because they had been accumulating votes all this time; very interesting to know that they have only been voted on over the last few years. This archive has had a lot of really talented and creative writers whose work I've enjoyed very much over the years, good to see that the works I fell in love with as a teenager have stood the test of time

Ah ha!
Sneakin' around the Archive while underage, huh?
Of course, back in the day, it was wide open.

The script that processes top rated stories is now showing 572 stories in the list!
Thanks for hitting those stars, folks.
