My Therapist Is Recommending An Orchiectomy

Post by Hopeful1 (imported) »

I had my first appointment today with a gender therapist. Now keep in mind this therapist is someone I've known as a close friend for 15 years but she is the absolute best gender therapist in the city and maybe our part of the country. Anyway, she understood how much I'm suffering with gender dysphoria and she is going to write my letter for HRT. She said at my age there was no sense in messing around with androgen blockers so she is getting the name of a surgeon here who will do an orchiectomy with a therapist letter and she's going to write the letter.

I´ve read that some trans girls even after an orchidectomy or SRS keep talking certain amount of antiandrogens. Certainly castration will reduce the vast majority of T, however depenidng on your genetics, age etc, the secondary sexual characteristics might be hard to supress especially in the first years of castration. Once male features have settled down after the puberty especially after 25, they only need a small amount of T to mantain them, If you think full transitioning, probably will need some blockers the first years, although I´m not so sure on this . Luckily even you might dont need them at all! get an orchi is a great step however , a step that I myself want to achieve!

If you have both testicles removed, over the next few weeks your testosterone levels will drop considerably, even below what most natural women have so you won't really need anti-adrogens. It will really be a waste. Your body will take some time to adjust to the great loss of testosterone, but it will not take long. You'll begin to feel different in just 24 hours. Your penis will shrink, though just how much know one really knows.

In my case, it won't be a great loss of testosterone since my levels have been pretty low to start with. If my penis shrinks much more, it will be a case of going to the bathroom and peeing all over myself because I grabbed the wrong hair.😄 Normally a GRS surgeon would worry about the shrinkage but if I reach that point, I'm going for the partial vaginoplasty without the vaginal vault so lack of tissue won't be a big deal.
