Jurassic World

Post by Dave (imported) »

I got this early through the cable company. It is good. Entertaining and lots of fun.

I enjoyed it and I can watch it anytime I want (I want a bigger TV)...

Don't let any of what I say next stop you from seeing the movie. It is a good movie even with its faults.

The story is set about 20 years after the events of the first three movies and INGEN has rebuilt Jurassic Park on Isla Nuba (spelling?) into Jurassic World and populated it with all sorts of dinosaurs. To "up the ante" on all theme parks and to satisfy a hidden military agenda, the genetic biologists create "Indominus Rex", a creature about 40 feet tall (that's like twice the size of the Tyrannosaurus Rex)...

Meanwhile, two boys who are nephews to the woman who runs the island, come to visit and the older one left his teenage crush and the younger one has googled his parents divorce lawyers.

It also seems that Chris Pratt (who might have not bathed in several weeks because velociraptors like their Alpha to stink -- all the better to track you with, my dear!) has trained four velociraptors and HAS to be introduced to the big one -- the Imodium Rex --

Sorry Indominus Rex ...

Thus the fun starts and dinosaurs savage the world with claws and teeth with mankind as their food source. A horribly blood apocalyptic vision of the End Times...

No wait, that's another story. Sorry.

The bad guys release the dinosaurs in Kandahar so they can feast on Taliban.

No wait, wait, that's not right.

A helicopter falls into a birdcage and kills Piscine Molitor ″Pi″ Patel...

Nope, sorry, that's not right.

There's this Mosasaurus that was one of the last of the mosasaurids.

But that's giving away too much.

Someone does get eaten by the dinosaurs!

I'm going to go watch it again and get all those plot points right.

I love all the jurassic movies, The fourth movie was good but the only thing I don´t like was the "indomitus rex" or whatever, I think It´s not necessary invent new monsters, there´s a lot of dinosarus left to show in the screen that tjhere´s no need of hybrids. Other thing I don´t like It´s that they present velcoiraptors as kill machines, they´re animals and only will attack If they´re hungry, If they´re afraid they will simply run away.

They doctored the animals right from the original movie. The special-effects guys modeled their velociraptors after Deinonychus, not velociraptor. Velociraptors were only about three feet high and may have had feathers. Moreover, there's no evidence that they hunted in packs.

But that's Hollywood. Gotta get bigger and badder with each movie, right?

You'd think INGEN would have figured it out by now. They have kids visiting who happened to be related to top park management and yet they don't know where that leads! I could've told them the outcome.

Look guys you're going to have hungry dinos chasing those kids round the park trying to eat them. How did I know this? Only because that's what happens every time! 🤷

At the heart of every blockbuster disaster my movie, there has to be an idiot in charge or someone who lets greed dominate over good sense.

Don't look for the strange science or the funky plots, just sit back and enjoy the screaming and carnage.

The "hands and claws" on the velociraptors are huge. They sniff, growl, stare and mostly HUNT AND EAT like predators.

There's another earthquake movie due to hit video and DVD's called SAN ANDREAS and it stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and some others.

Once again California gets torn apart in a massive earthquake.

It reviewed as "fun" and "entertaining" but not Oscar worthy or in any way serious. It's a get the popcorn and kiddies and enjoy the collapse of California while The Rock saves his wife and daughter.

IMHO - The original California destruction movie was EARTHQUAKE with Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner, and lots of others and was matched by THE TOWERING INFERNO and a few other movies. . .
