I saw this AP story in a local paper this morning. Will this affect any of you who order from on-line pharmacies?

FedEx indictment on illegal drug shipments will go forward

AP Reporting

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ A judge has rejected FedEx's attempt to toss out a federal

indictment accusing the company of knowingly shipping illegal prescription drugs

from two online pharmacies.

The Memphis, Tennessee-based shipping giant had argued that an exemption in

federal law allows certain transportation companies to legally possess drugs in

the normal course of business. FedEx says it cannot reasonably be expected to

police the millions of packages it ships each day.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer said during a hearing in San Francisco on

Thursday that prosecutors allege FedEx engaged in a conspiracy to distribute

illegal drugs, which isn't covered by the exemption.

Prosecutors have charged FedEx with multiple conspiracy and drug counts and

accuse the company of money laundering. FedEx has pleaded not guilty.

When I read stories like this one, it seems so blatantly obvious to me that our government, particularly the law enforcement and criminal justice organizations, are so completely sold to the highest bidder. This is in my opinion so clearly the big pharmaceutical interests persecuting anyone they can who dares to infringe on their obscene money making monopoly on medicine in the U.S. It sickens me to see this happen in America, ours is a nation "with justice for those who can afford it."

20/20 aired "To Catch A Fake" (http://abc.go.com/shows/2020/listing/20 ... tch-a-fake) last night. Touched on the Fed-X case.

I'm glad they are getting some heat. They have fallen way off the customer service wagon . . .

20/20 did independent testing of all drugs they purchased from the on-line Canadian pharmacies. Everything came up stinking in one way or another.

Toxins, fillers, bacteria, wrong recipes, aged ingredients, and way out-of-date products were found.

On-line pharmacies have been touted and warned against on the EA. I've always been leery of those adds that show up in e-mails.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't.

What they showed last night confirmed it.

I didn't know most U.S. pharmaceutical companies had factories in foreign countries, and shipped foreign-made drugs into the U.S., marketing them as made here. (The same drugs they sell to foreign countries at fractions as low as 1% of what U.S. citizens are forced to pay.)

It's supposed to be 'trade agreements'; but I bet it has more to do with employee costs, tariffs and taxes . . . Profits.

You know the U.S. companies who do that aren't going to 'test' all those imports for purity and safety . . .

As far as the Fed-X case, it's just a continued attempt by U.S. pharmaceuticals' and DEA to control profits.

Government elected and appointed are only there for profit or control for their cronies, or their own personal gains.

There is no such thing as an altruistic politician.
