Proluton Depot

Post by cbeard (imported) »

I was wondering if anyone has experience with Proluton Depot (hydroxprogesterone). I have used Depo before, and I was wondering if this drug has the same effect as far as chemical castration is concerned? Thanks

I asked the same question months ago with no success :)

17-HOCP or 17-Hydroxyprogesterone caproate, is a hydroxy derivative of progesterone that is present naturally in the human body. Is used for preventig preterm births, especially in women with a background of abortion. It´s available In two strenghts: 250mg and 500mg. Its half life time is about 10 days. The advantages of 17-HCOP over MPA (Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) Is that the former Is devoid of androgenic, estrogenic and glucocorticoid activity. 17-HOCP also exerts antigonadotropic activity, but 10 times less than MPA. So Theoretically and just theoretically 25mg of MPA would be accurately equivalent to 250mg of 17-HOCP. I myself want to try It as I think that although It is not that potent, with regards to safey It´s by far better than MPA.

A few endocrinologyst in my country include as part of some HRT-MtF regimens a combined depot-shot sold under the brand name Gravidinona, which contains 5mg estradiol valerate and 250mg 17-HOCP, and along with an antiandrogen and oral estradiol, It´s usually prescribed bi-weekly,
