Survey for Continued Academic Use

Survey Questions

An important question about the eunuch community that doesn't seem to have yet been asked is about fertility. We would appreciate as many of you answering these questions as possible. Any additional information beyond a simple "yes" or "no" would also be appreciated. <Reply With Quote>[/COLOR] at the bottom right side of this post, you can simply type your answers after the questions.]

1. How old are you? (Be honest)

2. Have you been surgically or chemically castrated?

3. If NO, are you considering surgical or chemical castration?

4. If YES, at what age were you castrated?

5. Have you been concerned about your fertility in relation to castration?

6. Do you have any biological children?

7. Do you want any biological children?

8. If you are already castrated, were you aware that you would be infertile after castration?

9. Were you (or are you) concerned about infertility post-castration?

10. Did you consider sperm banking for future fatherhood?

11. Do you have any regrets about having been castrated because of infertility?

No regrets. If the little bastards grew back, I'd cut them off again.

Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 2. Have you been surgically or chemically castrated?

Surgically at two different operations. 2007 and 2010. Orchialgia was the diagnosis/ reason for the surgery.

3. If
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm NO, are you considering surgical or chemical castration?

4. If YES, at what age were you castrated?

2007 I was 29 and finally in 2010 I was 32
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 5. Have you been concerned about your fertility in relation to castration?

Yes, it was a motivating factor to have the remaining testicle removed in 2010. My wife had an abdominal hysterectomy in May of the same year. In her case that was the left ovary, uterus, tubes and cervix.
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 6. Do you have any biological children?

One, born 2005

7. Do you want any biological children?

We both wanted more.
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 8. If you are already castrated, were you aware that you would be infertile after castration?

Obviously. That was a major issue for me. My wife told me repeatedly to divorce her to find a younger woman to have more children with. Being completely sterile took away that temptation/ option.
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 9. Were you (or are you) concerned about infertility post-castration?

No

10. Did you consider sperm banking for future fatherhood?

No, not an option here anyway.
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 11. Do you have any regrets about having been castrated because of infertility?

Only if my wife were to die in the next 10 years.

Specify the brackets you're using for cohorts, please. I prefer to remain pseudonymous, but I'll bracket myself truthfully.
Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 2. Have you been surgically or chemically castrated?
A brief stint with chemical. It didn't suck.

Ambivalent to no

Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 8. If you are already castrated, were you aware that you would be infertile after castration?

N/A strictly, but I was aware of the infertility before going through castration.

10. Did you consider sperm banking for future fatherhood? Yes

11. Do you have any regrets about having been castrated because of infertility?

Yes, although I'm jumping the gun by regretting something that hasn't yet happened.

I'm not that worried about fertility, honestly. Why?

Anything we can do to a rat we can do to a human being, and we can do damn near anything to rats.

Edit: I have had enough health issues - truly vexing, but not life threatening - that I would certainly use "designer baby" technology to spare my kids that same mess. I'd just as soon make sperm cells from a digitized genome tweaked for intelligence, charisma, and a lack of genetic disease. Everyone has, on average, six lethal recessive mutations, but I'd rather they didn't start playing that lottery with a disadvantage.

No not at all. Actually my wife considers that a huge positive.

Paolo wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2015 6:20 pm 10. Did you consider sperm banking for future fatherhood?

No and as far as I am concerned no reason for me to. Be each person is different and that could be an issue for many.
