Unless people outside of California personally subscribe to and believe the plot line from "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs", the drought in California is going to impact them. That's really all I meant by that. Sheesh...

It gets worse for California, because they have not been getting any rain and they keep pumping up water that is not being replaced California is sinking, as much as 2 feet a year.

So for all of you who thought an earthquake would break California off from the rest of the country and that it would fall into the ocean YOUR WRONG, its going to sink and when it sinks in the right place at the right time the entire middle of the state will become part of the Gulf of California. Finally Sacramento will be a PORT city something that they have always complained about and why its never grown like the coastal cities.

I know Hollywood will make a movie of this I can see how its going to play just thinking about it.

On another note the BIG island of Hawai'i is also sinking, yes its true we are sinking and they know why. The shear weight of the volcano, the tallest mountain in the world from base to top is sinking back into the pacific plate at about 1inch a year. So this means that if I live here for another 1000 years I might notice a change. California you wont need to wait that long.

Pittsburgh has a rainy and stormy season in June.

With June comes the Three Rivers Arts Festival each year and June also brings thunderstorms, winds, and heavy rains to mess it up.

Tonight, there is a flash flood warning and thunderstorms have passed my house four times since dinner.

You can have all the rain you need - - extend a long straw and suck it away.

(sorry, I'm a bit PO'ed at the rain since I was without power a few days ago for 10 hours.)

I will be further surprised if the drought is not relieved this coming rainy season.

El Nino plus our own "blob" of warm water off the coast sounds like a rainy mix

if the Canadians don't set up their triple polar vortexes along the 49th again.

I know that, as is Stockton which is a deep water port, its just when you look at a map people don't realize that the water comes in that far however being that it is true it does poop on my story which I am sticking to.

I suppose I'm taking the cop-out approach to the drought. The shortage really only prohibited us from doing laundry on the weekends. How that conserves water, I don't know.

But I am evading California for now and visiting the east coast for the summer as I complete my flight training. It just astonishes me how much rain they get over here. I'm so not used to it.

But what really shocked me is some east-coast residents don't think the California drought is due to lack of rain. The main theory is that our drinking water is being diverted to save a species of fish on a fish farm that the U.S. government assumes is endangered, but is in abundance in asiatic waters. I don't trust our government at all, especially those running California, but I don't think Mr. Brown is that naive.

If anybody from the east coast really wants to know about the drought in California bring up Google Earth and take a good look at all the dams up and down the state, AZ, NV, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, well after they look at these they will have enough words to fill a book.

AND

They (Californians) are taking so much water from underground that the state is sinking as much as 2 feet a year.

This is what happens when you take a place like Palm Springs which has no water and you build wall to wall golf courses. Soon they will no longer have any water and they wont have any golf courses either. California suffers from excess, you can't keep using the environment until its gone then expect the rest of the country to feel sorry for you. Then again look at the rest of the country and well .........
