Maybe you should take a chance on the CaCl2, since it seems the ethanol seems to take a long time, assuming that is really what you want. By the way, are they checking your PSA and other numbers?
Yes, it's what I really want.
I get my PSA & Testosterone checked every 6 months since the radiation treatments in '06. PSA consistently runs .4 range. T ran as low as 130s when I first asked for it to be checked along with the PSA. That was some time after I refused to take any more Lupron. After that it has consistently run in the 280 range. That is until the last check in January. PSA was .6 and T was 178. The urologist told me to get re-checked in April. I also see the oncologist who did the radiation once a year. I saw him on 2-25. He told me my testicles were atrophying. That may explain the 100 point drop in my T level. The radiation cured the prostate cancer but also caused a lot of collateral damage. It didn't happen all at once. 2 years after the radiation I needed 2 rectal cauterizations to stop bleeding from scar tissue. 2 years after that urethral strictures repeatedly put me in the ER in the middle of the night because I couldn't urinate. 3 surgeries on my urethra seem to have fixed that problem for now.
I figure the testicular atrophy is just another unpleasant surprise from the radiation. My testicles have been weak since the radiation and long term T levels under 300 have had the expected results. No erections, no ejaculations and my penis will disappear if it gets any smaller. I don't want to subject myself to possibly repeating those numerous surgeries. At close to 71 why do I need a lot of Testosterone? Right now I see castration as no big deal, similar to removing my tonsils, appendix or gall bladder. I have no further use for testicles and I want them gone. I can always use a little TRT if needed. I see my PCP doctor every year for a thorough physical. I'm about due and will do that in the next week or so. It includes a complete blood work up. I'll ask him for a T check too.
One of my concern is the urologist examining my testicles and asking, "What have you been doing to your testicles?" He's a young sharp doctor who didn't just fall off the back of the turnip truck. He may figure it out at first glance. It'll be interesting.
