And You Wonder Why...

Post by Paolo »

First off, I'm assuming that those who read stories also read VB, which probably isn't true, but...

It's been 48 hours since the new stories were posted.

Atreyu leads ratings charge at 10 stars.

No board feedback here, yet.

Comments are few and far between, too.

Talula spent a lot of time coding that rating system, folks. USE IT!

The Authors (and I'm not blowing my own horn) took the time to write the stuff.

Cainanite took the time to edit and post it.

I confess myself ... disappointed. If we were charging 10¢ per hit, on stories, we could have had a new Corvette by now.

And we have one author with 10 stars? 2 comments?

Now, the next time anyone gets upset by a once-a-month update, look up this post and remember it. That's why.

And now I shall blow my own horn. As Slammr once told me a long time ago, and it's taken me years to understand it, "A lot of what I write is for me. I don't post it."

I've written too. Though it's been a VERY long time since I have as I've not been interested in writing more, and it's not related at all to any amount of feedback I received or didn't receive.

While I can understand disappointment, a post such as this comes across to the "customers" as trying to force comments. People contribute what they want to. While some look for accolades for their writing, you have others like Slammr who do not. Personally, instead of writing reviews I prefer helping people find their favorite stories. The bookmarking feature (favorites) is a great tool you've added to the site. However a post like this comes across almost like Kanye West wanting that award to go to Beyonce.

That said, I do appreciate the work the writers and the ops here put into the site. Running a site is hard work.

LT,

I can appreciate where you're coming from as well.

It's just annoying as hell to get email from the "restless natives," and then see this kind of return for the trouble.

I've been on boards before (art, photo, etc.) where the Admin's would literally keep track of how often you commented or clicked a "thanks" button if you were not in the "Artist" group. Rules varied, but if you didn't and just lurked, you were banned in a week. I myself find that a bit harsh, though.

Forcing reviews, no.

Wanting to put my foot in someone's ass, yes.

Really? I'd like one in Red!

Seriously tho, I often wish that all the stories would get more comments. However, when you come right down to it, I'm as guilty as the next guy. I can't remember how often I've read a story that really thrilled me and then neglected to write a comment.

We'll put you on the waiting list.

Right after Flo gets his and Kristoff gets his new truck.

Personally, I'm after a Bama-tuned Mustang GT.

Well said, LT, and seconded. I appreciate the bookmarking (favorites) feature and use it whenever I find a story I like (such as one of yours recently). However, I admit could make a better effort to use the Ratings (stars) feature after I've finished reading something.

well to be honest - most stories are more of the same.

Hopefully more posts can be a little more erotic. Like glansectomy or cockhead removal stories.

Finally, got to read your story last night P. Busy weekend - sorry. It was up to your usual high standards. I enjoyed it very much, thank you. I would look for more if you are so inclined!

Have read chapters 2 and 3, awaiting four. You threw a pretty good pair of curve balls in 3 - good hooks to keep interest - but then you usually do. Great work. Looking forward to more!
