THE TRIAL of a woman accused of snipping her boyfriend's penis with a pair of scissors has been delayed for three months.

Helen Smith is accused of grabbing her man's member and cutting it at their home in Cardenden, Fife.

The incident last August is said to have left Smith's partner, Stuart Cooper, hurt.

Smith, 48, faces a single charge which alleges that on 26th August she "did assault Stuart Cooper, your partner, and did seize his penis and cut same with scissors, to his injury".

Smith, of Carden Castle Park, Cardenden, denies the allegation.

She was due to face trial today, but Dunfermline Sheriff Court was told that more time was needed to assess her "state of vulnerability" at the time and when she gave a police interview.

A new date was set for trial, in May.
